Possibly one of the best coaches to ever coach Costa Rica, Ricardo Lavolpe will sure bring a period of great results and possibly entertaining futbol.

a quick review by another coach in la liga Mexicana Miguel Herrera: "Como técnico es un ganador. Ustedes van a ver que él va a dejar muchas enseñanzas"

I have faith in Lavolpe....he only called up local players but its a young team...one "old" player Mambo Nunez but he's only 30....he also called up 8 players from our 4th place U-20 team which is good. Hope our players can respond because Lavolpe is an excellent coach...hope we can take advantage of that...if not...then that means we fken suck :D

According to our press...Lavolpe will use our friendly against Jamaica to look at the players that play abroad...so far he has called up...

    Keylor Navas (Albacete, Spain)
    Michael Umana (Chivas USA, MLS)
    Bryan Oviedo (FC Copenhagen, Denmark)
    Cristian Bolanos (FC Copenhagen, Denmark)

Hope Tuma gets a call up since he has been playing well with Brescia in the Serie A and he mentioned in a recent interview with La Nacion that he hopes to be in 2014...and i'm wondering if Felicio Brown of FC Nuremburg is interested in playing for Costa Rica...we don't have any good RB's maybe except for Cristian Gamboa so it would be good to give him a shot if he's interested.

He´s the best since Milutinovic, he should be able to bring something Kenton and Guimaraes lacked.

3 players won't be called up for the Jamaica friendly by Lavolpe due to injuries...

    Junior Diaz (Club Brugge, Belgium)
    Pablo Herrera (Aalesund, Norway)
Alvaro Saborio (Real Salt Lake, MLS)

Lavolpe will be calling up his squad this week.

No Ruiz, Herrera, Saborio or Bolaños in there...I hope he knows what he´s doing.

    - I'm sure Ruiz will be called up....Lavolpe watched FC Twente's CL match against Werder Bremen last week and said that he hopes every player on the NT can follow Ruiz example and play well both offensively and defensively. Lavolpe has also mentioned that Ruiz doesn't need to be tested...he knows what Ruiz is capable of.

    - Bolanos was called up along with Bryan Oviedo both of FC Copenhagen according to Copenhagen. Hope this is true because Bolanos is playing at a high level with Copenhagen and he's only 26 yrs old.

    - Saborio and Herrera are injured and will need surgery...they were both going to be called up according to our press. Both are good players...but this gives some of our U-20 players a chance to earn a spot (Urena, Josue, Madrigal, Gamboa) which is a good thing...we need depth if we want to succeed in the future.
