Cannavaro and Thuram were good buddies too at Parma, I believe. I think the reality is other than idiotic and caustic personalities such as Domenech and Materazzi, the majority of players on the two sides get along, even if the rivalry means a lot to them as well. Despite being a huge supporter of Les Bleus, I have a little Italian blood in me, and when I occasionally meet up with cousins who are more Italian than I am, it's exciting, especially watching the matches together, like the qualifiers, even though we typically settle our differences with PES.

 

Not all Italians are from the North ya know.

 

And better yet some are from Sicily.
