Awesome. New Rhinos owner Rob Clark has canned 2nd year coach Darren Tilley and GM holdover Matt Ford before they even left Puerto Rico.

Clark has claimed that Matt Ford will stay on for his transition team, but Ford claims he hasn't even read the press release yet.

The players commented on the firing before boarding their plan back to Rochester this morning. More on Devo's DirectKicks blog:

Seems like another PR snafu for the Rhinos. (no pun intended)

The September 28th podcast of the Soccer is a Kick in the Grass radio show is now available for download. Our special guest was Rochester Rhinos owner Rob Clark, who answered questions on the decision to not renew the contracts of team GM Matt Ford and head Coach Darren Tilley for the 2010 season.

Wasn't Tilley a decent coach? I read yesterday that FC New York USL1 is already talking to him about being their first coach.

    Weird.

Tilley to NY proved to be a false rumor ...Prez of NY club says they never had him on their list of possible coaches
