He'd probably be generous and hire his dad to be the coach.
Yeah, I think CP will have a very good chance earning a starting spot in one of the attacking roles.
If they keep Hazard, Odoi, along with one of Willian or Pedro.....along with Pulisic. That's a very good group of attackers. And maybe bringing in another younger mid 20 yr old winger for back up.
Of course she does. You're our former milkman.
It seems Chelsea are making lots of move this January. Plenty of rumors out there.
I'd have loved to see him at Liverpool. Though strangely enough; I feel he might have been valuable at Arsenal under Wenger.
Actually, I would have love to see him at Tottenham. Pochettino would have done wonders for Pulisic. Just look at what he did for Song, that guy looks world class with the Spurs.
" Pulisic played in a high-pressing system under Thomas Tuchel, has a great engine and is tactically very sharp. In other words, he's made for Maurizio Sarri's style of play."
Digging seeing CP in this commercial, which I started noticing during sporting events over the last few days.
So there was another EPL club willing to pay Dortmund's $70M Euros asking price? Whom would that be? But in the end, Pulisic chose Chelsea?
“There was a lot of trust in these talks,” said Zorc, who said multiple clubs expressed interest in Pulisic and that at least one other Premier League team was willing to pay Dortmund’s final asking price.
He also met with Sarri for quite a bit of time - putting to rest that myth
Where'd you read or hear that?
I've said it in a previous post, there's no way Pulisic or his dad would go to a team without speaking to the coach of said team.
It's in that NY article, Pulisic's dad said they met with Sarri.
Quote from Christian's dad taken from the NY Times article posted above.
Thanks. I somehow missed that post (guess I thought it was the same as the ESPN one).
Here's the quote from the NYT article:
Mark Pulisic also said the recent narrative that his son’s acquisition by Chelsea had been completed without the knowledge of the club’s Italian coach, Maurizio Sarri — an impression fueled by a television interview in which Sarri implied he had been left in the dark about the move — was “far from the truth.”
“We obviously met with Sarri for quite a long time,” Mark Pulisic said. “We had a chat with him. Christian got to meet with him for a bit, and it just felt good.”
Some interesting stats.
Of the top 5 teams in the EPL, Chelsea score the least goals with.
But they are also the team that give up the second least goals of all the EPL teams.
So, it seems they win with defense and not as much as offense. I thought Sarri's ball is suppose to create a lot of attack and scoring chances?
Song was already more established leaving the Bundesliga than Pulisic is
Lots of good attacking sides in the prem. Also Chelsea’s strikers not exactly firing on all cylinders since Costa left.
Agreed. His BL stats were pretty impressive.
Giroud scored 1 goal in 16 EPL games, or in 606 minutes.
That's an absurd strike rate for a forward. Even Bobby Wood can do better.
Footballwise the move is a slight step down, BvB is playing better than Chelsea. But moneywise it's a big step up, likely to be huge with the right commercial deals.
It's easier to follow Chelsea from here, too. Although I don't like their style much, so I may watch less than I did with Dortmund.
That's more on Chelsea's style. He did fine with Arsenal.
No one associates "Chelsea" with "attacking soccer."
Certainly not under their last 2 managers.
Sarri trying to get them up and running in that regard, linked with Icardi right now as well. Hazard, Icardi, Pulisic... that’d be a pretty damn good front 3.
Let's hope they can keep Hazard
Or do we want Hazard gone so Pulisic can start on the left?
Seems like they're more likely to end up with Higuain instead of Icardi.
It could also be Hazard-Pulisic-Odoi or Pulisic-Hazard-Odoi, the next season.
Sarri wants Odoi to stay and says he's ready fore more minutes.
