one way to avoid the emotion about US players is to be more pragmatic about it: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/meanreversion.asp we have good players and they are young ... over a certain period of time (say an entire professional season) performance may go up or down - but it will "revert to the mean" eventually in aggregate. That is one reason we need numbers of good young players to increase the sample size. It was not realistic that Weston was going to save Leeds (they have Bamford and Tyler injured and a host of questionable players) nor was it that CP was going to replace Hazard (Hazard was older when he left Chelsea for Real) immediately. These situations take time and while that is happening other factors are impacting the situation (Chelsea and Leeds with multiple coaches or Tyler or Pulisic getting injured). Reversion to the mean would indicate that these younger players will have very good periods (the last 12 months being not good) in the future. And I will reiterate - in the grand scheme of soccer - they are still very young.
As an aside...I hate the fact that he's comin here. I was able to get tickets to DRV Pink Stadium, in Ft Lauderdale, which holds 18,000 fans while the new stadium is being built near MIA in Miami for like $18. On the day. Now, tickets are about $160+.
I hear you. For years fans in Dallas griped about FCD attendance while I was happy with some of the cheapest season tickets in MLS. They've figured it out the last two years and I'm expecting a big bump in ticket prices next year. Maybe I'll sell the Inter game and have it pay for the rest!

They won’t be able to afford both. Real Madrid doesn’t have the financial issues of Barcelona but they also don’t have a ton of money to throw around. Especially after spending 100 million on Bellingham. Tottenham is also going to demand a massive 100 million dollar plus fee for Kane. If they are willing to sell him at all.
Yeah, he will probably be taking a pay cut. Especially if going abroad... how many people in Serie A make near 150k a week? Not a ton. Most in that range are the superstars/highest profile transfers of the league.
There are tax benefits of working in Italy so salaries aren't easily comparable. He can probably make less in Italy but still earn enough.
Head back to Germany, maybe D2 Furth can use an over-rated, under-sized, oft-injured striker. Julian Green can teach him a thing or three about being a consistent, productive, well-rounded professional (and feed him a few assists), "find a girl, settle down, if he wants to he can marry"...
Bellingham to RM for 100M+ BvB really knows how to make bank with these young players. How much they made in the past 10 years selling players? Probably in excess of $1B? That's some pretty good damn business.
Newcastle: "We're not interested in Pulisic." Chelsea: "Ok. We never offered him to you." Newcastle: "We might be interested if the price were right." Chelsea: "No, thanks. Napoli is ready." Newcastle: "He'll never move to Italy." Chelsea: "He's almost there." Newcastle: "We'll be back in a couple of months. By then, you'll be more reasonable."
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...-christian-pulisic-keen-ac-milan-move-chelsea Gazetto reporting of AC interest and Pulisic taking a cut in pay to join them.
He's still pretty young... but after his stint at Chelsea I feel like I'd love to see him go somewhere where he'd be more of a nailed-on starter. Not sure that's this AC Milan side. edit: oh, just realized Brahim Diaz is going back to Madrid! In that case CP makes a lot more sense there. Would love an excuse to pay closer attention to Serie A.
Had Kaka gone to Washington instead or Orlando from Milan, that would have been a real AC-DC move.....
He will start until he gets injured again. Then the drama will continue. He would have started and continued to impress at Chelsea had he remained healthy.
