Yes, posters here have spent years and countless hours watching and following our players, simply hoping they ruin their transfer options and derail their careers. Astute point.
Daily Mail reports on CP's appearance yesterday: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ristian-Pulisic-booed-pitch-Chelsea-fans.html
It's not sad, it's happy, he never has to spend another day w/those ---hat fans. What was sad was having to serve out this horror show season after being suckered to stay a year too long. It's a happy moment. He never has to wear that jersey again or play for those scumbag fans. It's a beautiful thing. Same for Weston, and probably Adams, and hopefully Brendan too.
It’s just a game and Pulisic is very well compensated for the part he plays in it so I wouldn’t worry too much about him. He’ll be fine and Chelsea will still be Chelsea after he leaves. When Pulisic was first at Chelsea I learned all I needed to know about that fanbase by its treatment of Willian. Willian busted his ass every match for that club and they still hated on him. Now it’s Pulisic’s turn. Next it’ll be someone else. Hopefully no more YAs will end up there.
As an American living in Madrid, I’m hoping CP10 moves to Atletico de Madrid. I’ve adopted the team and to be honest, his skill set would be perfect for La Liga and the team. Basically, what Atleti thought they had with João Felix (another disappointment at Chelsea) they will get with Pulisic. I know he has interest in Serie A but I for one think La Liga is made for him. Sincerely, Very biased ExPat in Madrid
Reports that Juventus is in the picture for Pulisic. https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/37758859/sources-juve-lead-race-sign-usmnt-pulisic
"A number of clubs have been approached about the prospect of signing Pulisic, with sources telling ESPN that Manchester United, Newcastle, Napoli, AC Milan and Galatasaray have all been made aware of the player's likely fee and salary, which sees him earn £13m per year at Chelsea." In transferspeak, does this mean that these clubs have inquired?
I suppose he has to be realistic about cutting those wages but it'd be worth it. He goes to Serie A, he could easily be highlighted as one of the top foreign players in the league and get showcased since Serie A wants to grow more viewers stateside.
Paramount+ has the Serie A contract through 2024, so I suppose they'll want new bids sometime in 2023?
Maybe. Those clubs have been linked to him in the past in other articles with different language used. It's also possible his agent his going to clubs and claiming CFC will transfer him at X price and Pulisic will be willing to join the club for X wages. It's a pretty small world of agents, clubs and players at that level, so you could see something like that happening.
As far as Napoli goes, it seems like the approach is from the Chelsea side. They want to offer a pair of players so they can get Osimhen. The owner has indicated that he wants to bring in an American player, but he hasn't named names. Honestly, Pulisic makes a LOT more than anyone at Napoli does. He makes Juve/Inter money.
It's a really uneven proposal. Napoli gets an overpaid (by our standards) bench player from a midtable team, and they get Serie A's top scorer. It won't happen in that form. We've already got Lozano filling that role.
Spot on with the treatment of Willian. At first, I thought it must be how they treat players they like.
While I agree it is a pretty uneven proposal for Osimhen, CP's talent isn't a bench player on a midtable team. C'mon... that is pretty disingenuous, especially considering the situation at Chelsea. A new owner invested in very very highly-paid players and CP got replaced. We can clearly see they weren't any better than CP and in most cases a lot worse than him. Let's not go out of our way to shit on CP. He will be fine as long as his next move makes sense and he can stay healthy.
"Have been made aware" is a weasel expression. The point is not to tell you whether it was based on an inquiry by those clubs, or an offer by a Chelsea management desperate to sell him.
Or a for sale sign hanging from Stamford Bridge... The simple reality is all the top (and not so top) clubs know CP can be had for the right offer. Some are certainly calling to get a sense of what the "right offer" might be (if they hadn't already during the season.) And some clubs are getting called by CP's camp. CP will be someplace on a lot of clubs list, at a certain price. How far down the list - and how high or low the price might be - I certainly don't know and I doubt many of us do. NUFC has been mentioned any number of times over the years, in no small part because they need more boards in their quiver to keep riding the big wave. ManU, Liverpool have been regular rumors over the years as well. As have a number of Serie A and La Liga clubs... it's almost without saying those clubs have had some sort of general interaction about what it would take to get CP. It doesn't mean any of them have the will, or cash, to get him.
