likely Grade 2 .... then this means 4 - 6 weeks out. We are only just past 3 weeks so far.

I hope he has a good physio and PT underway ....

if you have ever been through the BAPS board and tension and stretching bands it is not painless as you gradually build the strength back up ....

the body has its own timeline - despite what the mind wants.

it is hard as a ute to learn the lessons of patience ...

i will also say pulisic seems like the kind of person who does himself no favors by pushing things during rehab

It was very strange especially in this context, where everyone knows that Timo’s desperate for a goal. On the second goal, Azpi showed his leadership skills as the team captain by making sure they celebrated together, which then seemed to draw in the rest of the teammates.

In contrast when Pulisic scores the whole team goes crazy with him.

What do you base that on?

Ok, that can explain the "used to the pain" part. He means he has to get used to the pain of rehab.

But if he's still not used to the pain, it means he's still in the initial stages of rehab, which would put him about a week behind schedule, right?

Good to see Pulisic playing some basketball with Chilwell today

Not playing basketball, they were just shooting hoops. But Puli seems capable of jumping a bit there.

IF he has a grade 2 sprain - or it was grade 1 and he f'd up by playing on it even for five extra minutes ..... then the range is 4 - 6 weeks.

Little over 3 weeks so far. Yes it is painful to rehab .. pain and exercise and rest and routine and patience and do it again and again .... you cannot rush getting it fixed right.

the way it folded inward my bet is he did this before and DID not rehab it properly.

    just going to require patience.

Very likely recent, Chilwell posts current stuff to his Insta.

I don't know - they certainly celebrated with Werner on his second goal, the one that counted. It's so hard to tell whether or not someone is popular or not based on goal celebrations...

Werner has had 16 goals disallowed by VAR since at Chelsea. Crazy! Maybe the team just wants to be positive of the goal before celebrating with him?

That is Crazy!! Where did you hear/see that? I'm now questioning the purported fact, as there is a report from April of this year that Chelsea, as a team, has only had 5 goals disallowed by VAR. Other sites may have different numbers, but nothing close to 16.

I just did some checking. This "16" is probably somebody's current rumor as it does not jibe with league and club data, nor with some (albeit ambiguous) data about individual players in the league. I wrote all this out with links to all the pieces, but was kicked out of my posting effort for taking too long to make edits to my above post on the topic. Here is the link to the (probably/possibly) original source of the "16". The critical paragraph is below
    Not very convincing, IMHO.

I explained all of what I saw above. They celebrated with him on the second only after Azpi (team leader) came over.

Chelsea got the results they wanted today from City and Pool.

Top of the table for the moment.

Maybe there was less enthusiasm for the disallowed goal as it looked as if Chelsea was getting an easy win but here is another perspective for the 2:1. Azpilicueta wasn't even the first with Werner and does it look like they needed their captain to get their asses over?

Watching it again, it looked to me like almost the entire team ran over to celebrate with Timo right when he scored the goal. They just didn't get there as quickly as Azpi who was closer to him. They didn't wait for Azpi to show his leadership skills and then go to him. Even Lukaku started jogging to the corner almost immediately. It just took him a long tome to get there. Big guy.

There are many plausible explanations. However what happened on the first goal was unusual especially for a teammate in desperate need for a goal.

That WAS weird on the first goal that didn't count. Almost no one went over to him. And its not as if they knew it was going to get called back.

Yep. Afterwards I wouldn’t be surprised if Azpi communicated to the others that they need to celebrate with Timo should he score.

Wait, you think Azpi went around to each of the other players, during the game, and said "please celebrate when Timo scores?" Or do you think he made a locker room announcement when Timo went to take a piss?
