I believe the foul-pole and Nationals emblem on the clock will be taken down next week.

Also note the new "International Style" permanent goals being installed.

The goal pictured behind the pitch is one of the old ones.

credit for the pics should go to Kyle Sheldon, webmaster of BobbyBoswell.com

Basically the same you'd seen during the World Cup.

Are they doing anything with the big ugly gap behind the old Nationals dugout?

It seems like the only show the one side of the stadium during DC matches, does everyone sit on the one side we can see in most of those pictures?

Yeah, DC is not New England. They fill up the whole lower level at RFK.

Are they adding the old seats back from before the Nats ruined the place?

Not likely, they use the seats, and seat backs form the old sections to fix broken seats in the stadium. They tend to break when you jump on them for 90+ minutes.

I guess that's a good thing in that it scrunches everyone together, which makes it louder in there.

Please don't kill me, but will RFK last a few more years? If they utilize the space where the dugout is, they can move the pitch further left and have space for supporter sections behind the goals. I've watched a game there and my only complaint is the empty spaces at the ends. Those seats are like trampolines! RFK could be amazing with small improvements. Especailly with your mayor flip flopping on the new stadium.

    Cheers

It's all up in the air right now. There's supposed to be a political decision on the plans to develop the site DCU wants to build on around the end of the year, but then everyone will sue everyone, wash, rinse, and repeat. Whether RFK remains till the end of the process is anyone's guess.

Maybe they should make room for a concert stage!

Anyone have any pics of the old field? It would be cool to have before/after shots for contrast.

I am very glad they got raid of the make shift goal posts and replaced with " real" goal posts.
Now remove the top tier and make it a 35k stadium and call it SSS.
I hear the field is like the one at Mile High stadium in Denver , half fake and half real grass.
