off the kick off long ball forward to Phillips who is crashed into and goes down in the box, no call. Free kick taken and cleared.

Manu back down the pitch, out for a corner to the dismay of Reyna. Sunderland clears.

Piper advances down the right, wins a corner which is cleared. Reyna lofts into the box, Sunderland pressing. Veron heads out for a corner.

Interesting that United flip flopped Neville and O'Shea on the sides. Makes sense, tho'.

damn that 60 second posting limit.

Corner is cleared. Manu press down to the other end, Nistelrooy dribbles around the keeper but it's cleared off the line, pass from giggs not fine enough. Into the 51st.

Piper goes down on the flank under the boot of Neville, who picks up a yellow for his effort.

Manu with pressure again, shades of the first half. Keane takes it all the way into the box, shot blocked, in the end Sorensen comes up with it.

    57th minute

FLo, who has frankly looked rusty, fouls ferdinand. Oshea, to Beckham, a cross into the box is cleared away. Sunderland back on it's heels a bit.

Free kick to Sunderland taken quickly by Reyna, who shoots it off of Beckham, who gets the yellow. Announcer criticizing Reyna for doing it on pupose (duh), but a smart move, I think.

And Beckham is nearly ejected after a reckless tackle (duh, that's why Reyna got the yellow on him) in the sunderland box. Looks like Becks had been hanging out with Keano, he's slightly off it emotionally.

Veron dribbles into Sunderlands end, comes out to the flag and a goal kick to the cats.

Anyone catch Veron's 2 shots in the first half. Amazingly off target. And neville almost gets his second yellow card for a "rash tackle".

Keane now yelling at his teammates to calm down. Yes, I have officially seen everything.

Time slipping away on Sunderland. Now 30 minutes left and they've yet to get any significant pressure in this half.

I agree with earlier posts, Manu is blue is very strange indeed. Look just like Chelsea.

So, O'Shea's playing left back? I didn't realize he had that in his repetoire.

    63rd minute

Becks with a solid shot on goal from outside the box, but right at Sorensen and saved easily.

Reyna to take another corner, Sunderland can't get anything on the header, and butler's shot goes wide right and high.

In Roy's world, you are by definition "out of control" if you are yelling more than him. ;)

Veron passes on to becks who curiously stops running. Gray boots a ball into the air, wind catches it, out for a corner. Reyna clears on a header.

I thought he was purely a central defender. Guess not.

ManU with more sustained pressure, passing around Sunderland half with little opposition. Sunderland's chances looking grim.

Quite. Ferdinand has missed time, brown is out, Neville is out, they are thin at the back at the moment.

    70th.

Header in the sunderland box falls to Veron, who shots his 4th consecutive wildly errant shot of the day. He hasn't come within 10 feet of the net on any of them. Ouch.

And FLo scores off of a goalmouth scramble.

    1-1

    72nd minute.

Reyna smartly into the box, Butler has his shot blocked (twice?)-possible hand ball by Blanc, and Flo rushes in, cranks it high off the bar and into the net.

    Can sunderland hang on?

Macca and Keane getting into it...

If I was Alex, I'd throw on Forlan...he can't be any worse than Ruud has shown so far.
