Buff, do you typically do the PBP by parroting back what a webcast says, or do you watch the game on TV and type at the same time?

If there's TV available, that. Webcast, that.

I rarely do PbP (other than reporting goals, etc) unless I can see the match--can't make judgements without seeing it.

The Everton webcast is here-- http://217.28.130.65/match/live/index.asp

Assuming that Sunderland's are still on a subscription basis...

Incidentally, to follow through with other "Yanks Abroad", Joe-Max Moore doesn't even make the bench for the Toffees.

    Cheers,
    William

Sounds like Phillips just hit the crossbar before the goal.

32-Freekick right of center 1/2 in Everton territory.

"Things aren't going Sunderland's way and even I'm getting a bit chippy"

Sorenson save on a Reyna long range effort.

Everton just over the bar. Poor Sunderland marking.

    Everton still 1-0.

audio crapping out on me, but it sounds like Everton really has the run of play.

"This one goal lead may as well be 10"

Love the optimism of the Sunderland announcer.

Phillips hit the back of the goal - came very close to curling a ball in that Reyna let run on to him.

Bjorklund muscles Radz out of the way.

    Sunderland counter but defended well.

Reyna back pass to Mcateer. ("They do spend a lot of time going backwards")

Dangerous ball in the box - wicked cross from McCann - smothered well by Everton keeper.

Butler dives but no call - then Everton player fouled but ruled offsides.

Goal kick Sunderland. Fans getting more restless. "29 years since they won anything. FA Cup against Leeds, of course."

Butler - Gray - Reyna - Gray - crossed in - just goes out. Incisive passing and movement by Sunderland - best buildup of the game so far by Sunderland.

Corner kick won by Everton. Stubbs with a flick on but no one at the back post.

Phillips "the golden child" wins free kick.

2v3 for Everton counter - comes to nothing.

Reyna ball to Kevin Phillips - offsides.

Butler - to Gray - Phillips - goes wide to Wright - Mcann - Macateer - Naismith defends well and Everton with a good break but Radzinski makes a poor run.

Pembridge goes up and beats 6foot Steven Wright in the air.

Sunderland chance - Macateer has the ball in the box but can't get a shot off - Phillips gets a header and misses by a whisker. Perhaps should have done better.

Reyna - Phillips - Gray - corner kick Sunderland.

Sunderland looking more dangerous and game picking up pace.

Macateer on the right - holds the ball up - Mcann to Reyna who turns away from Li Tie - Reyna - Phillips - Butler - in the box - defended well by Everton.

Radzinski - to Hibbert - Li Tie - Hibbert - back to Gravesen - to Li Tie - Naismith - cross comes in....nobody there.

Kyle clean through on goal! 1v1 -- Naismith brings him down but referee doesn't call anything. Great ball by Phillips in to the box where Kyle embellished a bit too much in going down.

    Head ping pong.

Butler to Reyna - Phillips - shooting chance - Macateer....sliced wide. Boos ring out.

    62 minutes gone.

Piper coming on for Kevin Kyle - boos ringing out.

Great ball by Li Tie but defended well. (I don't think it should be pronounced "Ty" - more like "TA" said sort of fast.)

Li Tie gets a yellow and now has picked up a knock.

Everton "clinging" to a one goal lead.

Reyna wide to Butler - Hibbert mistimes a challenge - free kick Sunderland.

"old man" Niall Quinn replaces Jason Macateer.

Goal? Howler from Richard Wright? Not a goal! Reyna took the free kick, Richard Wright dropped into the net but referee gave offsides!

Reyna whipped in a free kick that goes in but ruled out by offsides.

Quinn to Reyna - dumped by Li Tie - free kick.

McAnn to Butler - cleverly wins throw in. "Been a nuisance all day"

Throw in Sunderland, win a corner.

21 minutes left. Penalty! Reyna takes corner and Quinn wins penalty.
