"As strange as it sounds it was really, really exciting for me to get back training with the lads. It's been a long road - five-and-a-half months. Even the warm-ups are nice." Do you think he really said "lads"?
I would think Claudio has been in the UK long enough to use words such as lads, mates, birds, tossers, and many more.
When you say "birds" I assume your not talking about a winged-feathered creature that flys around with its heart beating like mad?
Reyna has used "lads" pretty regularly since he moved to S'land. In fact, I think it was here on BS that there was a debate whether "lads" was a Friedel-esque affectation or a reference to S'land's nickname "the lads." Since Glasgow, Reyna has often been quoted as talking about "massive" games, "brilliant" wins and all the other British Football Cliches that seem most used by non British footballers. It is bloody hilarious, I mean, freakin' funny, if you ask me.
I can't believe that a thread about our best midfielder ever returning from a long term injury is nearly entirely about his use of the word "lads". Who cares? Good to hear he's back.
From BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/2970359.stm A mention that Reyna may be a target (along with others at Sunderland) of lower-level EPL teams.
