"The Revolution should remain wary about playing on anything but real grass. Three of the team's most accomplished players have sustained long-term injuries on artificial surfaces, the latest being Joe-Max Moore, who sprained his right knee Sunday and will miss at least six weeks of the Major League Soccer season."

Steve Nicol, to his credit, pointed out that Califf had the same exact injury at the Home Depot Center

So when one of our players gets injured playing in say, Columbus, can we blame it on the grass?

It may not have caused JMM's injury, but our field bites it hard. I, for one, can't wait until the day comes when we can play on a full-sized grass field.

maybe if JMM didn't try to tackle Woly off the ball, he'd be fine. If he had strecthed better at half-time he'd be fine. If his teammate hadn't lost possession he'd be fine.

You could blame lots of things for his injury. Whatever.

I don't think FDA was specifically blaming the feild, and tried to be fair about it by putting in that Nicol quote, I think it was pointign out that this is a coincidence or trend. However, it's not like thinking that the Feildturf is partly to blame is out of discussion.

Right...because having an aging player who has left his prime years ago has nothing to do with it.

I don't know what Nicol is doing with JMM anyway. They are much, much better with Noonan up top with TT. And I don't say that because I want the Revs to be better.

Putting Noonan at midfield is a waste of his ability. I get the impression that JMM plays because it is in his contract. But the fact is is that he is over the hill and belongs on the bench to be used as a sub.

DING DING DING, we HAVE a winner.

Seriously, can anything be lamer than these excuses about field turf injuries? Aside from Jaime "Walking injury" Moreno, did the team have that many injuries last year? Jolley was injured shooting after practice, Eddie Pope got hurt AT Columbus and Joey DiGiamarino is just brittle. Funny how this year, with the MetroStars having the youngest team in the league, there are no injuries through two home games on the turf (knock wood).

This is becoming a joke. Stewart a couple of weeks ago messed up a pass to Alecko by blasting it into the endboards, and somehow according to Wynalda the normal turf would have placed that on alecko's feet.

Listen, this field is miles ahead of anything the Metros had before (remember our normal field with the moon craters on it, or the normal turf?). Not only that, it's probably better then most fields in MLS. I'm talking about the SJ field, the field at HDC is threadbare with sandtraps in the corners, and even the crappy New England turf, which hasn't been resodded, and you can actually see nfl logos.

Can we stop this joke that all injuries or messed up plays are caused by the field turf?

IMO, there is a much higher chance of someone getting injured by being tackled by that Dema disciple known as Franchino..That tackle on Guevara was quite dangerous
For better or worse until Harrison (cross fingers, pray to the heavens) it will be a synthetic field for the Metros....
