And if you're curious why Misters Mathis and Howard won't be playing next week, there's a thread in the Mutts forum with links to video of the red cards.

Just a reminder, no Ralston for us.

PS-- Is it game time yet? I have NEVER looked forward to a Revs game like I am for this one...

Actually Mathis stepped on Alegria's head - not his backside.

Just like Midnight Riders I too have NEVER looked forward to a Revs game like I'm looking forward to this one. Hopefully my team will get things done on Thursday but even if they don't I'm looking forward to seeing you guys bury the MetroStars and hopefully doom their chances to make the playoffs.

We did our part by orchestrating cards for Mathis and Howard - now you do your part and finish the MetroStars off!

Mathis kicked his upper back (between the shoulder blades). He did not kick him in the head.

"Just a reminder, no Ralston for us."

If I remember correctly, this will be the first game Ralston will miss am i correct. If true, thanks Steve for a great season now incase the inevitable happens.

    Brown
    Heaps Hernandez Kante Franchino
    Griffiths? Cloutier Cullen Kamler
    Twellman Harris

I dont know but this doesnt convince me. It looks stupid without Ralston on the Right. Griffiths and Kamler is an embarrasing combination. And with Cloutier in mid, its gonna be tough.

Lets send the mutts home please!

During the 2nd half of that game, there was discussion in the Fort as to whether paper bags should be worn over our heads.

It does look dicey without Ralston on the right. With a possible MF of Grifftihs, Cullen, Cloutier, and Kamler, I'm not sure where the service will be coming from.

Watch it again, wasn't his head, it was his back, Alegria smartly played it as his head. Props to him, good playacting............No complaints, definite red.

Should be a tight match on Saturday.

If there was ever a game for Alex Pineda Chacon to step up and earn what we've been paying him to be halftime entertainment, this is it. I don't think he starts, but he better be ready to come in and give us half an hour of MVP flashbacks if we need it.

All three absences worry me, frankly. The Revs have a long history of playing down to the level of depleted teams.

    But that was before Taylor.

Didn't Cloutier play right midfield for us when he first joined? Though his disruptive presence in the middle is very welcome. We have an interesting problem at midfield. So long as we don't see Wolde playing it. I would rather see APC come in as an attacking/holding midfielder.

It will be interesting to see what SN does.

Heaps had a dicey game defensively against Dallas but has shown a propensity to go forward and put in crosses all season. I would not be suprised to see him move into Ralston's spot (but play more conservatively) and Downing ( or less likely Leonard) to play behind him. I doubt Nicol can afford to leave either Franchino or Heaps without help on the outside so I suspect Griffiths will sit unless we fall behind. If Diallo can play then the loss of Mathis is unimportant, but Howard's absence is a real plus. It should be interesting to watch Hernandez and Williams battle in midfield (each has something to prove) but I'd take Williams in this one. The other key matchup will be Ramos and Cullen (with Kamler helping) and here I'm hopeful the Revs have the edge. I suspect Nicol will let NY/NJ carry the attack reasonably expecting to exploit their defensive and goalkeeping weakness on the quick counter, probably going at Chronopolus primarily, but also aided by Ramos' limited defensive play. If we fall behind we will see Griffiths on the right and maybe Chacon in the middle late (if they spray him with WD40 first). If we score first we will win, if NY/NJ score first we still have a decent chance to equalize. How about a 2-1 win in overtime?

    Good luck gentleman.

It is has been great (Saturday excepted) watching you guys rise from the ashes. Unless you're a Metros fan, it is hard not to like your team.

Your team is proof that despite everything your team has been thru, team spirit can prevail. You guys have earned every bit of this. I hope you win.

And tell Serna to go jump in a lake next year, You don't need him.

Thanks to LA's OT victory late Saturday, the 3-wins-in-a row hex in MLS this season has finally been broken. So we won't be battling any voodoo above and beyond the traded-players-come-back-to-haunt-you stuff. Hopefully, Kamler and Hernandez sting the Metrostars more than Chrono, Williams and Diallo sting us. I just can't wait for the game to start. It will be a long week.

You know, that guy. O wait, i dont know either.

I would like to see heaps play mid, but that will kill us defensivly.
My gameplan would be to stick someone on Diallo specifically to shut him down. We will win if Diallo doesnt score!

I'd say Hernandez would be a good bet. He certainly wouldn't need the motivation and he'd probably do well to get under the Ex-Revs skin.

Is Llamosa out of the line-up Saturday? He looked okay in limited duty against Dallas. Did he re-injure himself? People are leaving him off their line-up proposals for the Mutts, and I can't figure why.

Personal aside to Steve Ralston: I know it will nearly kill you to be out of the match on Saturday. With nothing but respect for TT and your other teammates, you're my choice for Revs MVP this year. No matter what happens, thank you for your fighting heart this year.

    GOOOOOOOOO REEEEEVVVVVVVSSSSSSSS!!!!

First on Llamossa, he still does not seem to be at full health yet, so I dont think he will start until the playoffs.

Yes, Steve Ralston should be the Revs MVP, but TnT should be the League MVP(dont ask how)

Big Baby-Huey has been troubled by an ankle injury and has been limping during his brief game time in the past few matches. If he's able to play he will still be dangerious but not up to full speed.

I sure hope that Llamosa can play. While some teams may have the option of saving players for the playoff this game is do or die for the Revs and with Rusty out we need Carlos to anchor the defense with Kante. Besides Hernandez has played much better in the midfield. With Ralston out we are already thin in midfield.

    Brown
    Heaps, Kante, Llamosa, Franchino
    Griffith, Cullen, Hernandez, kamler
    TnT, Harris

    Bench players: Cloutier, APC, Downing

I'm officially nervous. The more I think about it, the more I worry what Ralston's absence will cost us. Perhaps Wolde Harris will breakout for a two goal performance? ;)

    Line Up

My money is on Cloutier playing right mid. Hernandez in the midfield as well. He was AWFUL on the back line against Dallas.

I agree - I think Wolde comes up big this game.

    Rev 3 - Metrodogs 1

Question - Do they let you barbeque in the parking lot at Gillette ?
