Well tough to lose, but a great game.

Revs certainly gave it there all in that one.

For the record, I hate PKs.

Only one word for tonight's game CLASSICO

Take away the Avery John "brain fart" and the Revs are through to the final.

Say what you want, but the Revs outplayed DC tonight. The better team from the season may be through, but the better team tonight lost.

    Heartbroken.

But the effort, the sheer determination and grit they showed tonight.

That is what every Rev fan wants to see. What we only saw in flashes up until the playoffs.

It's been a goshdarn rollercoaster, ups and downs, twists and turns with the biggest heart shattering dip at the end.

The good thing is, everybody gets off the rollercoaster,. and gets ready for the next time around on the ride (next year)

Yeah, PK's suck. But good job on Reis' part on both sides of the PK's. Let's just hope that next season we have better luck.

That was cool. When did we get Uncle Fester to play goal?

    This sucks.

I will say that this was the best revs game I have ever watched, highly entertaining an dramatic and everything.

Jay Heaps was the difference in this game, it looked like the first and third goals for DC could be put on his shoulders really, and then the missed PK, just a bad game from Heaps. Reis was shaky but made some big saves. John was also a little shaky at times but did make some big plays.
Joseph had a great match all around, defensively he owned the midfield and did well holding and distributing the ball.

Wait til next year I guess.

My heart is still pounding, although it's in a 1000 pieces. I got an uneasy feeling in my stomach. But next season couldn't come any sooner. Ugh. Just Ugh.

I think my biggest regret is that we couldn't make it a three championship in one year run for Boston, even though I know that, instead of the Duck Tour parade, we'd get the tour of the city on the #1 bus. But y'know, I've lived here for ten years now, so that's long enough to know the traditional call of New England sports: Wait till next year.

Thanks, fellas, for making me not regret getting the season ticket as a graduation present for myself.

See y'all in April, front row center--I'll be the one in the grey longsleeves.

That was a freaking fantastic game.

It just seemed surreal to see the Revs carrying most of the play and DC being forced into a counter attacking role. Our boys owned the overtime, but nothing went in.

Awesome game by the Revs. That was one of the best games I've ever seen. An edge-of-your seat thriller. I'm just so sorry about the result. I wanted to see the Revs trample DC. But what a valiant effort by the whole team.

Im a dc fan and I have to congradulate you on a great game, one of the best Ive seen, it was a toe to toe and perhaps it will give you some degree of comfort to know the game was descided in penalties and could have gone either way

Full props to NE from this DC supporter. Your men came our house, didn't sit back, weren't intimidated, and took the game right to DC. i'm glad DC won, but the Revs would have been equally deserving.

What hurts almost as much as the result is knowing that every MLS writer is now penciling in Chad Marshall for ROTY after Dempsey didn't make the PK.

    Memo to Revs front office:

    Note atmosphere at RFK...

    Note contrasting atmosphere at Gillette...

'Nuff said: if Kraft can't figure it out through this match, he should sell the damn team...

... and that's my last negative post for the entire off-season.

    Damn...
I had just turned a friend into a revs fan tonight... So now, we both have shattered hearts, he's not taking it in stride as i thought he would as a new person, he's as confused, flustered, sad, angry, as I am. Another thing is in common tonight. We are both so proud of what our boys in blue have done. Well done. I will definatley look into season tickets for next year.

Got to feel sorry for Dempsey, who ran his socks off for the whole game. Joseph was superb despite playing with that 16 second yellow card.

Great tempo, tremendous passion, enormous tension and amazing pace made for great entertainment that will easily overshaddow a lot of sloppy play in the defenses.

If MLS could bottle this passion and pace ...

Moreno breaths a huge sigh of relief.

But probably breathing even easier now is the MLS front office, which gets Freddy and the Destroyers in the MLS Cup final instead of having to explain to the general sports media how a team with the Revos record got there.

Tonight's match raised the bar for MLS as entertainment. Now let's see the final try and match it on National TV!

So many big plays along the way, where I just felt so proud of the guys. They just continued to take the play to DC, over and over.

No. Heaps has had a knack for horrible mistakes followed by game-breaking plays. The PK should have been his game-breaking play - god knows he had more than his share of mistakes tonight.

The tempo for the first ~75 minutes was astonishing, far above what I've ever seen in MLS. Fatigue set in to slow things down at that point, a bit. But man, it looked like an EPL match in a cold month. Not alot of tight midfield defense, plus players for both teams were very aggressive in getting upfield.

MLS Wrap just named Clint ROTY.

Hell, I want to call the Revs front office, find when the Revs flight comes in here, just to greet them and thank them. They played their hearts out tonight.
