    Per Kyle McCarthy twitter.

    His transfermarkt.co.uk profile is here.

Looks like this is some of his highlights:

[ame="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9r3u9_jose-pepe-moreno-atacante-selecao-c_videogames"]JOSE PEPE MORENO (ATACANTE SELEÇAO COLOMBIANA) - Video Dailymotion@@AMEPARAM@@http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/video@@AMEPARAM@@video[/ame]

Anyone know anything of this guy?

If his wiki site is correct, 10 teams in 11 years. Hasn't played more than 20 matches in a season since 2006. Hasn't scored more than 5 goals since 2006. No info on his current season there.

I wouldn't go by those wikipedia statistics. Wikipedia can be a good source of information, however when it comes to professional athletes outside the US and western Europe, it's pretty sketchy.

Wow. What a weird profile on transfermarkt.

Seems to have played in 20 of the 24 games for Once Caldas.

Scored 7 goals, 5 of which were in the first 7 games in which he appeared (missed 3 games in that same period).

Gets subbed out a lot- 8 of the 16 games he started.

Appeared as a sub in 4 games. In one of those games, he came on at halftime and left in the 60th minute.

Three times subbed off after being on the field less than 20 minutes.

Maybe he's injury prone? Regardless, the trend from "90 minute starter" to "comes off after 60 mins" to "substitute" says he was out of favor, whatever the cause.

Agreed, just the first thing I found. Here's a bigsoccer thread on him. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=388895

He looks rather round in the majority of his Google images.

Not much posted in the last year, apparently people thought he had retired (did retire?) but he played in 2011.

It looks like his better days are behind him, the only information I've been able to find on the guy is from 2004-2005 when he was scoring goals for Millionarios and America de Cali.

I have never heard of him and I watch a lot of soccer.

Oh well I guess a Robbie Keane type signing was a pipe dream to begin with.

He's a slightly higher calibre player than I'd expect from this team, and about the same kind of deal terms I would expect (loan).

Why buy when you can rent. Shows a lack of commitment to the sport.

    Impressions from the video:
    He's right-footed
    He's big
His goals mostly come from in and around the 6
He seems to pick out a corner (at least the goals in the video).
He does not create his own opportunities.

All in all, he seems not a bad guy to have, but the video doesn't show you his work rate, runs off the ball, touches, hold-up play, etc.

Mind you the video is also from 2004-2005. It seems like he's struggled since then.

Well that's always great to hear, everyone thought your new "big" striker signing retired last year.

I'm curious as to your reasoning behind rating his caliber. He had a decent year last year, but besides that the guy has done virtually nothing in the previous 4-5 years and gone on loan a ton of times.

Says he served a 3-game suspension for something last season. I'll see if I can find out elsewhere. He's interviewed briefly here and just says he wants all the fans to come out and support the team against Pereira.

Cool, the league was lacking in Colombian signings this off season ;)

His wiki says his team in Peru in 2009 cut him for "bajo rendimiento" or low output/effort.

    He turns 31 in August.

Let's put it this way--if this is our "proven goalscorer" and not just a secondary guy, judging by the level of striker other teams are bringing in, 2012 is over with. On to 2013.

Other teams going the Colombia route are bring back national teamers (Chara, Castrillon, Robayo) and we have come back with nobodies.

    Ditto, just heard back.

Same guy that told me Cardenas and Lozano are good pickups is telling me this guy isn't.
