I had no idea that "Santos Laguna" was Spanish for "Cheapshotting Turd Lickers".

Revs played well, but it helps that Sanchez is absolute shite. Is he still Mexicos' #1? I know he was for years, despite being god-awful.

Way to create an inviting and cordial atmosphere for any Santos fans who might wander in here to participate in the post-game discussion.

Speaking of people wandering places, security is checking tickets and telling people to go elsewhere who try to join the Barra, even though apparently they are getting along and the Barra don't want them removed. The explanation is that the Barra section is fully rented out.

    Weird.

How did Nyassi get hurt. One minute he was guarding the post on a corner kick, the next he was on the ground. I replayed the kick, and no one was near him. First he stepped away from the post like he was dazed, and the next thing he was on the ground.

Don't worry, it's just whiplash symptoms, I'm sure he'll be fine.

No class, dirty mother*&^%$#. At the end of the match you could see the look the Santos manager gave Nicol: He knew exactly what his player did.

I hope "Senor Suckerpunch" gets tossed for the entire tournament, and I hope Phelan's eye socket is still in one piece.

That Vuoso guy just begs you to hate him. On the Telefutura MOTM poll Vuoso had 68% of the text message vote and Osvaldo Sanchez had 27%, combining for 95% of the total.

Dube (+) His best game ever. Pretty much perfect. 10/10
Ralston (+) Good until he was removed.
Igwe (+) Solid, composed, and got forward.
Larentowicz (+) Good goal, poor free kicks.
Mansally (+) Completely sucked most of the game, but the goal and assist changed my mind.
    Heaps (+) Nice goal.
Reis (+) 4004395x better than Sanchez.
Alston (+) Very impressive. Hope he was subbed to save his energy.
Phelan (0) Deserves a minus, but he got KO'd and saved a goal brilliantly.
Videira (0) Serviceable. Got unlucky at some points.
Nyassi (0) A terror, but still some inexperienced mistakes.
    Osei (-) Could've been better.
Barnes (-) Gross touch on that goal.
Thompson (N/A) Looked good, but not enough time on the pitch.
    Tierney (N/A)

EDIT: Realized I'm required to give 2 (-)'s so I'll choose Osei, because his VORP was probably pretty low.

I think it would be a good idea when we are up 2 goals against a Mexican team to sub in someone who never sees the field, so he can stomp people and break ankles, throw elbows, etc.

The punch to Phelan's eye was clearly retaliation for the Phelan flailing elbow in the box earlier in the match - the one that opened a gash one one of the Santos players. I don't think it was the same guy who socked him, though.

I'm sure that refers to the players not the fans. In that vein, fark Santos. With a splintery stick. The Revs certainly showed more composure than I expected, so, good on them.

The look on Nicols face when he went over to their Coach was priceless. It would have melted a rock.

It found a spelling error with Laguna, but not Santos?

The worst part of all for me being latino is being able to understand the a-hole commentating in favor of any team thats not American anytime they have to cover an American team. Sports analysis is supposed to be impartial last I checked. It honest to God sickens me b/c I dont care where any of the teams come from if you played a good game there should be no denying it. I think you guys deserved to win. Cheers from a Dynamo fan. I expect Nyassi Mansally and as always Reis to give us a fight and a half next time we meet.

I thought Videira was excellent - best game he's played. Seamus Malin agreed, FWIW.

Revs deserve a lot of credit for tonight.

Impressed how they kept their cool with all the small and not so small stuff Santos did. Kudos especially to the young ones.

Seeing them come back after Santos got the lead was excellent. Must admit, I thought it was over at 2-1.

Osei is fun to watch, but I want to see the adjustment to a simplier style for a while; too many games is a row where it has hurt the Revs.

Surprised Osei stayed marking the big Santos forward (30) even after his yellow. That was a tough assignment.

    Go Revs!

A great day for a New England soccer fan. US Nats, Breakers, and Revs all walk away with wins. Nothing more exciting to me than a comeback win. I wish I could watch a replay though, I missed alot of fouls. I am pretty happy with what I saw on the field today, but I didn't get a good look at either Santos La-Goon-a goals. I was very happy to see lots of shots getting fired off. It drives me nuts when our guys have an open look at goal, and they just pass to the wing.

The turnout could have been better. I am not buying the 9k+ attendance. The rain prior to the match was discouraging, but was not an issue once the game got rolling.
