http://www.boston.com/sports/other_sports/articles/2003/12/25/were_residing_in_state_of_bliss/ We are sport's team number 5 at the bottom of the article.
As an FYI, last year, neither the Revs or the Breakers made Bob's list. Though I disagree with Bob Ryan's view of the front office, I am very glad that we got a mention this year.
If you had told me before WC94 hit Foxboro that there would come a daythat Bob Ryan would write about the 5 major league teams in Boston and include a soccer team with the Red Sox, Celts, et al, I would have said you were on drugs. Take a step back and think about about this column in the big picture. Yes there are things we'd like the Revs to do differently, but is that different from fans of other teams in Boston?
Note that that teams were listed in alphabetical order. So the Revs were 5th on the list. Nice comment re Nicol.
Not True. He talks about the five coaches and that the ccurrent coach may be as capable as Bill Balacheck(Sp?) The tone of his comments about soccer in the Boston area are quite positive and that the Revs are a Championship level team. It's clear that in his eyes the Rev orgainzation has arrived as a major player in the Boston sports arena. George
Yeah, having read comments on here in the past, I was curious to see what the fan reaction would be to the front office props.
It was a great article, and the WK is right, he didn't include the Revs last year. I believe he has gone back and forth, he did include them the prior year (2001) but they were on the list in 2000. Guess it depends on how much time he has.
