Wait, wait...it says he could return for that all important final regular season match against TFC. Yes!

Well now SN has an excuse....."It was just coming together when Lekic got hurt, I'm sure that with the present group together for a full season, we'll be competitive."

    Code for no new players

So who's going to be the thumbs-up guy?

In all seriousness Lekic was actually starting to play better. I would've liked to see what this attack could do for the rest of the season. O well.

I could care less, this guy has scored some goals but IMO has been a cancer on the team. I just can't stand seeing him through he arms in the air like everyone is sooo much worse than he is. There's a reason he's with the Revs, he sucks.

That's your opinion. I've heard directly from players that he's not a cancer at all, and is actually a great teammate.

For a good length of the season that^ was pretty true. Remember "Lekic Island"?

Well if being a great teammate involves yelling at Gambians, showing up your coach, and bitching out teammates then yes, Lekic is stellar.

Lekic sucks. The 3 stooges will be probably fired at the end of the season, even the Krafts have seen enough of this garbage so it will be interesting if the new management team keeps Lekic or not.

If we didn't have bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all.

Stick a fork in this season, this turkey is roasted.

I think he's vocalizing the sentiments of a lot of people on the team. From what I've heard: morale is at an all-time low, Nicol has completely lost control, and everyone wants out.

Just a ready-made excuse for further failure.

So when other teams missing major guys like Morales (RSL), Ferreira (FCD), Zakuani (Seattle), or Casey (Colorado) for most of the season make the playoffs, we've got nothing but shrugs.

I see the meme has already become the "season" is a failure and not those responsible for player personnel decisions since the day the 2010 season ended are failures.

    Damn season!

I really wish this was the case but I'm not optimistic.

In Revo land, "we recognize that this team needs an infusion of talent and we're fully committed to upgrading our roster during the offseason" is also code for no new players.

Mike, I respect your opinion and you know that- but nobody's getting fired. Our three-headed Cerebus of ineptitude (B, B, & N) will be in place come First Kick '12.

I'm not a big fan of Psycho (talk about nicknames being apt) but he was getting better and beginning to play better with his teammates. It's 50/50, however, that's he played his last game with us (yes that's the ghost of Marko shaking his MVP award you hear).

Seamus, I understand (and respect obviously) your perspective, but disagree that at least Nicol won't be fired. This is the second consecutive year of missed playoffs even with (in their eyes) a budget to work with. Really think changes will be made in the FO come October/November or certainly before March.

Sorry, but you are dead wrong on all counts here. First, the only thing preventing The Three Stooges from coming back next year would be nuclear anihilation.

And Lekic would have been a hell of a lot more useful this year if the coach had figured out what most of the rest of us realized: That to be effective, he needs a partner up top. In recent weeks being paired with Caraglio, he has done significantly better, but even if they had Dube, Stoli, Schill or my granmother up top with him, he would have been better.

He's not the be-all and end-all, but there are a lot of other guys on this team that need replacing before Lekic.

EDIT: Seamus pretty much said it. I'm not going to beat a dead horse here, but I doubt anything will happen. Let's look at this thread in March and see who is right. I hope you are, but I fear I am.

Cerebrus of Ineptitude would be a good name for a band that plays before the game. Also, I think I'd dump Lekic in the off-season. No hard feelings toward the guy, but ASSUMING we were looking for a replacement, I think we could get better value.

The Fort shall now be known as "The Banks of the Lethe" because you'd have to forget what happened last year to keep showing up.

Dave Barry keeps a running tally of phrases in his books or articles that he decides "Would be a good name for a rock band". It's available here: www.davebarry.com/rockbandlist.html

Um, the people acquiring Lekic's replacement are the same people that brought us (deep breath) Dabo, Domi, Assengue, Augustine, Niouky, Khano, Argenis Fernandez, and Linck. I know there are players on the positive side of the ledger but this is the Revs FO we're talking about.

It's like a hungry man selling his hamburger in order to buy a lottery ticket so he might buy a steak.
