Also Matt Reis is up for an ESPY again, granted he won't win, but as long as Blanco doesn't

I think it's a good thing that we're getting these players to some place they can get some experience. And hey, maybe Kraft is actually making some money off of it! :D

I wasn't foolish enough to ask about it, just said it could happen.

How about Kraft's team getting two open roster slots? ;)

That's not a "detail," it's just obvious. I heard they've dropped all efforts toward a SSS so that they can focus on a plan to obscure the obvious. However, it is only a rumor and I don't have any details...

The deeply hidden optimist inside me would like to think they are making room for other talent to come in but I'm trying not to read anything too positive or negative into it.

That fact that Fernandez was loaned and not sold is not a sign indicating there is anything pending. Loans do not clear roster spots, which is why you don't see tons of them in MLS. We'd have to do a 2-for-1 trade or dump someone a la Franchino. I can't see anyone on the senior roster getting an outright release. Maybe Brinks, but that would be pretty harsh -- still, he has the lowest current value x future upside + utility on our senior roster in my opinion.

Last year, the team's lack of reinforcements to a very shallow squad was disconcerting. This year we have a lot more depth which means there's even less incentive to get a DP. And while we don't need a Denilson gimmick, our team has room for improvement. Hell, we don't even need a DP, we have plenty of cap space to sign a Gabriel Badilla type for $250k contract.

C'mon Doc, you know that doesn't mean anything in and of itself. This team has gone into Finals with open roster slots.
