Noonan's game needs kick-start by Aaron Harlan, Boston Globe

Joe-Max hopes to score a few Moore by Matt Kalman, Boston Herald

Apparently Gus didn't debrief his understudy:

And all this time I thought it was a red card....

i thought that this was an interesting little report
very interesting. not sure what way to look at that. i know stuff like that will happen in a physical game but maybe but maybe two guys who are just frustrated?

I'm sure they are frustrated. Kante hasn't been playing as much as he'd like this year, and Heaps, who was on the field for 4 goals must not be happy. I don't think this was anything to worry about, kind of like the time when Pierce and Andy Williams got into it in practice. These guys are very competitive by nature, and I'm sure they are all pissed off, embarassed, and frustrated by their performance in Colorado.

Of course, to a man, that's how they were with the loss to Columbus, and then they basically repeated the performance in the next home game vs the Quakes. The Revs not only need to take out the intensity on DC this week, but maintain it for the following week, and the week after that, and after that...

For what it's worth, yesterday's training session was one of the best that I've had the pleasure of observing.

Even though it was held in a steady rain, it was very intense and extremely competitive.

The Daouda Kante/Jay Heaps scrap was a blip on the radar screen [Kante would have been declared the winner using the 10-point must system. Then again, Kante's a light heavy and Heaps is a middleweight]. Steve Nichols ;), to his credit, was quick to mitigate it before it degenerated into something worse. As Bill Parcells would say, though, after a training camp brawl, "That's good. It shows they care."

Adin Brown said afterwards, "We needed that type of practice - we're embarrassed about how we played against [the Rapids]."

Not to worry. They send up another bomb against DC, then start popping the blood pressure pills.

Kante and Heaps sort of ran into one another, and then then they started throwing hands and grabbing at one another. Didn't last long, though - another player and Nicol swooped in and did a Arthur Mercante/Mills Lane.

    No sign Vazquez.

i'll chime in that it can be a great sign when players are going off at each other... competition is a great thing and playing with your heart on your sleeve can make you play that much better

these guys are still team mates... they would each lay down for the other in any game playing together... but if you don't have that level in practice... how can you be prepared to even think about topping it in a game??

great teams can have players that almost hate each other... it pushes them to try and top the other, but in the game... they are there for each other... all they know is this game, a team game...

i know of other players on mls rosters that get into it from time to time... it can really set a great tone for the team... hey, quit lollygagging and get your butt off the ground and give it your ************ing all...

however, the fire fan in me wants this to blow up :D;)
