Some former Revs news about Matt Okoh (remember him?) https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=664548
He and Ivan McKinley were specialists in the "Hand of God" maneuver invented by a well known player from South America. (Rep to the first person who spells out the details)
I remember an incident with McKinley vs. the Mutts where he slapped a ball so loudly with an open palm that you could hear it in the fort. That didn't stop him from ranting and raving in protest as the ball was placed on the spot. I don't recall any Okoh handballs, but the thing I remember the most about him was the OT goal he scored in the home opener vs Chicago and it took only 12 seconds. Actually, what I remember most was the Fire fans claiming the league was conspiring to fix games in the Revs favor because we were such a good draw and it would be a shame for us to suck forever and that would cause fans to lose interest. Those guys were always good for a laff! It wasn't the ref who let Okoh and Wolde Harris walk right in and score a goal as if it was a training session...
I don't recall all the details but I can see it in my head. It happened on a cross form the right side. He jumped trying to head the ball, couldn't reach and spiked it like a volleyball player. It happened at the net right in front of the Fort.
Correct--Rep to you. Ivy made a stink but it was as clear and open hand ball as you will ever see and it got him a Red Card.
Correct--Rep to you Fow weeks after the incident we all talked about how Monster Matt should give up soccer and stick to Volleyball.
He then continued on to run around in celebration as if he had scored a goal, making the ref chase him down to give him his yellow card. Later on in the same game, he tried for the volleyball spike again, but this time missed completely.
Not only that, but Johnny Torres celebrated with him. Maybe Torres wasn't tall enough to see exactly how Matt put it in. Mike

How about those Revolutionary Baby Scorpions! The Gambian Revolution on Fifa.com http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=710116.html "They are both very strong players for their age," Nicol said. "We are hoping that they will be good additions to our team. Ideally we would like an immediate impact out of them, but there will be an adjustment period of course."
I saw McKinley as I was leaving the old Foxboro. My friend and I said something stupid like "good game", and McKinley gave us a wink and said "Maybe I should go out for keeper next time!" I miss that guy.
Off topic, but in other trips down the Memory Lane exit from Route 1 I found this video while searching YouTube for examples of bicycle kicks to show my soccer newbie friend. Paul Keegan (from 2003, playing for Bohemians in Ireland)
He also scored one of the great goals in Rev history. In an away match in DC he hit a ball out of the air way up field on the left touch line for a laser volley that beat the DCU keeper flat footed.
