MLS blocks another offer for Twellman By Frank Dell'Apa Globe Staff / January 31, 2008 http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2008/01/31/mls_blocks_another_offer_for_twellman/
Just when the whole issue had died down, here we go again. Just wondering - On the Nat board, Twellman is crap and Altidore is God. Have there been any offers of the future of American soccer ... e.g., God? One would think if Jose is really all that ... the Euros would come knocking with their inflated money in hand. Since they're offering 3.5 Mil for crap, how much is God worth?
This news is the same old news as last week, Frank just being a little behind the times. Not sure why it is being printed now. Would rather a story on current Revs news, you know, like the ones we get from Goff.
Looks like Marshall Leonard is trying to catch-on with the Red Bulls: http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2008/01/red-bulls-pra-2.html#more
I hope Marshall ends up on a team somewhere. I feel bad for the guy. A horrible ACL injury has kept him out of Soccer for almost 2 years. He deserves better.
Because the Patriots are in the Super Bowl! Perfect season! Showdown with a Manning! 19-0! 4 Super Bowls in 7 years! Brady's foot! We're live outside the bathroom where Junior Seau's dropping a deuce! and I say that as a lifelong Pats fan....
everyone knows that the best way to get up to date Revs news is to read the blogs of our two biggest rivals Frank is in Arizona by the way, who are the Revs?
Based on that article, it seems a very real possibility that the Revs could lose Twellman on a Free after this season (only two years with two years worth of options on the contract)...this is especially true if they mess around with him like they did Noonan
If Frank is in Arizona, then no. Unless Biglin does it and I haven't seen his byline lately. So no camp coverage from our end.
Oh now that might really blow Twellman's top - the Revs end up wanting to pick up his option years - that's what they did with Avery John which kept him from moving, right? But there is no way, after this Noonan fiasco, that the Revs not pick up Twellman's option - at least with a plan for one year, and then maybe try to sell him prior to the end of the 2nd year. But with the Revs FO, who the hell knows. There is no way to guess what they are thinking or might do.
Biglin and I were there yesterday. There will be an article or two up on MLSnet later today. Here are a couple of tidbits to tide you over until that gets posted: - No foreign trialists in camp as of yet, mostly because the team's focusing on fitness work - Khano's out with an injury (adductor) - Gambians are stuck in Gambia with visa issues
I met his mom on the 5:45 am shuttle from our hotel in D.C. to the airport after the final. Very nice lady, but she did have some choice words about Nicol . She came all the way to see the final even tho she knew her son wouldn't play, she's alright in my book.
So if I've done my math correctly, we have 15 players in camp right now. That's not even a game-day roster....
But don't worry, we have plenty of time before the season starts. It's not like people will use chemistry as an explanation for not adding players later. Oh wait, they will.
You know, the Riders drinking game really does need to be updated. ie ... "Any time you head McBride's good in the air" ... drink.
We have a song involving the Mutiny fer chrissakes I'm impressed you've held out as long as you have, hanging around with us.
