A little Rev content in Mike Biglin's notes: National services saps Revs, Mike Biglin, Herald/Metrowest Daily News From the article: Even though he's California born and bred, Donovan loves Boston and has enjoyed great success playing at Foxboro in Major League Soccer play and national team action. ``I love it here. Boston's a great city,'' Donovan said. ``It's just fun to be here. And I play well when I'm comfortable and happy and relaxed. Boston does that for me, and I don't know why.'' Great ... next time he goes off to Germany and flops, he can come back and play for the Revs.
SI's Rankings are also out. Also, Grant Wahl had put together a list of each team's salaries for this year. Anyone want to take a guess as to who's got the lowest salary? SI Power Poll, Grant Wahl SI.com.
Lindstrom, my friend. Lindstrom. BTW - where is the outcry about the rankings? Now that ESPN and Wahl agree with me, there is less argument? (I know the situation is different, and honestly, I almost kept you guys at No. 1 - you have bigger wins than Dallas in a couple of places....)
Congratulations to Shalrie - a deserving player who in most all-star formats doesn't make it. (Not that Matt and Clint don't deserve to go - they certainly do.) It will be interesting to see what Clarke does with the remaining five places. Does he spread the players out among the remaining teams? (He can't cover all of them, even if he wanted to.) Or does he go with the five best who are left - which would probably include Noonan, Twellman and Ralston, and maybe Parkhurst. (I expect him to pick a F, two mids, a D and a GK.) The Dallas fan in me is curious if Chicago will get a representative at all. Their team certainly is good enough, but is there any one player who is sticking out enough to get called in?
No outcry. You were wrong before but now you are right Seriously though, same number of games and FCD has a better record and the Revs are coming off a loss. Regardless of the other stuff, those two things make it clear for me.
BTW, on the pick Clarke is going to make on the All-Star Game, you can probably count on one (and only one) spot where he calls his own number. Simo Valakari will probably be the one other Dallas player named.
