Stevie Nicol has $100,000 salary money, no transfer cash and a need for a holding midfielder who can "make the pass to the player who will make the pass to the shooter (to quote John Murphy, Revs assistant coach)." They need someone who can buy the other players time through possession and passing skills. Vasquez showed quite a bit during a trial in Brasil last February. At the time they thought they were going to have Peter Nowak and/or any other number of trialists who all washed out in one way or another. Unless this guy has taked out in the ensuing four months the Revs will get exactly what they saw under game conditions last February. Which is to say, a useful role player who may help a good team get better through his calm demeanor and experience.

I think Atlanta is in Divvy 2, not 3 but I may be wrong as there are both a Primera B and a National B in Argentina.
