Edozien for Smith now or at 60'?

    Luke Vercollone for Marshall Leonard.

    Jeff Larentowicz for Marshall Leonard.

    Jamie Holmes for Marshall Leonard.

    Anyone for Marshall Leonard.

Put Edozien in up top, move Smith back to left mid?

I can't stand to watch him another minute. Whatever it takes to get him off the field. He's seemingly taken on a ball-hog tendency tonight. Not a good development for his already meager game. It baffles me that anyone in this league falls for his fake cut-in, outside-of-the-left-foot move. I can't watch him do it again. I can't watch him wait and wait until he's sure that the defender will block his cross. Somehow all of our play has been coming down the left flank, to make matters worse.

Somehow I feel like Edozien might be useful out there. It's been a little disjointed, maybe he could find himself some space for a chance.

Joseph's been our only player who's distinguised himself so far.

Could really use goal from an unlikely source (Joseph? Dorman?), as the channels we've been using haven't yielded much so far. I'd love to get out of here 1-0. Not that it's a surprise, but damn do we lose a lot of bite with Ralston, Dempsey, and Noonan out of the side...

Interesting Shots on Goal stats they just showed on FSC, totally different than what is on MLSnet.....

The play has been somewhat uninspiring so far, although Twellman looks pretty good considering he's coming off an injury. Agree that Joseph has looked good. NE defense has been a bit shaky, allowing some through balls and crosses that gave LA some good looks.

LA has looked better than they have the past few weeks, as far as connecting on passes and playing like a team. They must really believe they suck on the road, and they're good at home, because they sure play like a different team at home.

That's not Bretos. It's the guy who does MLS Wrap. Not that there's any improvement. Most of the FSC announcers are just plain CRAP. That's Christopher Sullivan with Wrap guy. He actually does better with a decent announcer. Reads the game well. I've been watching Feldman and Lalas most of the time. Is Greg Lalas related to Alexi? Sounds like him.

Glad to see no Rev Cards in the first half. With Heaps and Joseph on the bubble and with our depleated bench we can't afford anyone getting a sit down.

Speaking of Cards---an ejection in each of the other two matches going on tonight---one an ex-Rev :D I'll sy no more at the risk of getting flamed by the PC Police

I don't think we're watching the same game. Leonard held onto the ball too long once and Marshall made him pay. It's good to see a wingback take on the opposing defender. That draws some pressure from the middle and pays dividends in the long run.

Leonard has had decent crosses, albeit long on the one where TnT crashed the 'keeper. He's switched the attack nicely at times.

Second half getting started. No subs announced.

    Greg Lalas is Alexi's brother.

The play by play guy is really pretty bad, both announcers seem to be "rooting for" LA at points. One of them at halftime said "I think that LA can win this match".....brilliant insight - NOT, but the way he said it was like "good, I think LA can win this"

Trivia: NER's only win at LA came on July 4th, '96. :)

LAG taking their 5th CK. Too many chances.

Another Twellman near miss on a header set up by Khano Smith. That was an amazing save unfortunately.

Smith gets bumped by Nagamura and just stops! Then he decides to chase.

Ball headed to TnT whose header gets deflected out by Hartman for a CK.

Wow - great cross by NE, header from Smith(?) on the far post to Twellman who heads it on goal. Hartman with a great save.

Nice counter by LA, Cobi Jones down the right side, nice cross to an open man (??) on the left wing, takes a left footed shot on goal, Reis dives to his left with the save.

Heaps gives Pondo too much space (20 yards). A long cross is one-timed, saved by Reis.

We will get killed giving up that much real estate.

Even is on, but Cobi was clearly offside there.

Jones called offside twice. Not by much.

    C'm'on Rev!!!

Cancela not involved at all. When he is, he gives it away. :(

Cancela is definitely not having a good day. Nicol, I would think, would pounce on that

Smith tries to take on Marshall and learns the same lesson that Leonard learned earlier. :)

At the other end Parkhurst gets flattened while clearing a ball out. Foul called against LAG, but Parkhurst looks shaken. He's had shoulder separations in the past. Nasty looking scars.

NER is weathering the storm right now. LAG is attacking from both wings.

CK. Reis with two-handed punch, then one-handed on the pop-up.

    Pondo skies, again.
