    Thanks!

Note that Buck and Tsicoulias are on loan from the Revs academy, and have not signed with R2.

Status of loanees is a bit of a grey area, but I went with what was on the Revs site:
    https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/players/squad/revolutionii
which is probably not entirely accurate either.

I can do some research and see what other academy players have minutes for R2, and add them.

Looks like I spoke too soon...

Revolution II sign Academy midfielder Noel Buck to USL League One contract
    June 22, 2021, 1:30PM EDT

Interesting they signed him ahead of his older brother Joseph (not to be confused with broadcaster Joe Buck), who is also with the academy and has minutes played for R2.

Pretty amazing to be playing pro at 16. The comparisons with Diego will be inevitable.

The question "Who is #2 behind Turner?" still puzzles me.

Earl Edwards Jr started against North Texas and got his second shut out in 3 games with R2. However, R2 defense held NTX to 5 shots, with 0 shots on goal, so Edwards didn't have to make a save.

Still R2 has 3 shut outs in the last 5 games, sandwiched around 2 games where Knighton gave up 7 goals. I'd have to think Edwards is ahead of Knighton based on that.

Joe Rice (3 GA, 4 starts, 2 shut outs) also has been mentioned, but the Revs would have to sign him to a first team contract to play him. Not that that would be a problem, I can't find anything suggesting another MLS team has his rights (compared to Sean O'Hearn, who plays regularly for R2 but was drafted by Minnesota, giving them his MLS rights for 2 years). I just don't see Bruce signing a 4th GK.

R2 plays Wed and Sat this week, so it will be interesting to see if Knighton gets another shot.

SCHEDULE UPDATE | Revs II reschedules July 30 match, swaps home & away fixtures with Toronto
    June 28, 2021, 12:00PM EDT
    revolutionsoccer.net

Makes sense, as Ontario is expected to re-open sporting events some time in August.

The first team plays at TOR Aug 14th, potentially the first match at BMO since Sept, 2020.

R2 drop below playoff line again.

Five of their next 6 are at home, starting with a July 4th match vs Greenville.

I wonder if this has anything to do with why the public can't buy tickets for R2 games?

I think Knighton is an ideal backup keeper. When he gets the call, he is usually seems well prepared to me. I can't speak to what happened in those Revs II games, but I won't be surprised if he gets the first shot at starting in Turner's absence. (I don't have anything against Earl Edwards, so it is fine with me if Edwards wins the chance.)

Either way it is a clear downgrade from Turner and our expectations should be lowered accordingly.

Baby Revs extracted a small measure of revenge for their big brothers, defeating TOR2 Friday night at Gillette. First time they have ever played each other, as TOR2 sat out last season due to the pandemic.

Joe Rice was in net and (IMHO) looked like the 2020 Rice for the first time this season, making 2 huge saves: one on a break away, the other on a late PK (although he did commit the foul giving the PK - minor contact, looked like a dive to me).

Kizza got the start at forward, and didn't impress me. He had a few opportunities, and put them all over the bar.

Damien Rivera provided the only goal.

R2 are 5-0-0 when posting a shutout, 0-6-1 in other games.

Rice in net again, gives up 4 (defense let him down). Rivera with a nice meg and a goal.

Revs2 echoed their result from two weeks ago with another 1-0 win over TOR2, vaulting them from 8th to 4th place in the USL-L1 standings. Joe Rice earned his 4th shutout of the season, dropping his GAA to 1.00 (2nd best in USL-L1). He only had one save, but it was a nice one from point-blank range in the 11th minute. He had another shot beat him, but defender Pierre Cayet cleared it off the line.

R2 dominated in shots (18-5), but had trouble getting it on frame (4 SOG), until LB Ryan Spaulding's shot deflected off a defender to beat the keeper in the 68'.

R2 get a bye week next week before their first-ever meeting with self-demoted North Carolina FC (played in USL-C from 2018-2020).

I think you're looking into this a bit too much. I think it's more indicative of Edwards not being around next season and Arena looking to possibly develop a younger backup than Knighton.

You are probably right. I just find it odd to bring in a third R2 keeper, when they already have Marzuq Puckerin on the roster who has yet to see a minute of action behind Joe Rice, Knighton and Edwards. Puckerin was on the bench last game, so he's not injured.

Maybe it's just to evaluate him and see if he could mount a bigger challenge to Rice.

I think if we lose Turner, we'll have a significant chunk of transfer proceeds and will likely use much of that on getting a quality replacement. I can't see Arena going into next year with Knighton as the #1.

Joe Rice earns his 3rd shut out in the last 4 games, Rivera scores his team-leading 4th goal. Edward Kizza beats 3 defenders to head home a cross for his first professional goal, then adds a second.

There was one earlier in the spring, played after the Revs game (back when they were restricted to %5). I thought they'd be doing more, but it doesn't look like it.
