We had one of those before... Alsemo Rebiero, a.k.a Jair, the pride of Madison Park High School. I really thought he could have been a star, but he was never the same after breaking his ankle. :(

I like how they refuse to name the trialist - top secret/classified info, that!

It's like when they brought in Daigo Kobayashi and referred to him as "Player X" If they were going to give him a nickname, I liked "Secret Asian Man" myself.

RBNY II is a real test. They've been pretty good overall.

I cant tell if you're talking about the players left on RBII or if you're making a slight against the current NYRB 1st team

I tried to watch this. I tuned in late, so missed the first 20 minutes, then the ESPN+ feed cut out with technical difficulties for about 10 minutes. Came back just before half time. Then it did the same thing in the middle of the 2nd half. Frustrating way to watch a game.

Recap | Revolution II, Union Omaha play to 0-0 draw in inaugural match

From what I was able to see, Collin Verfurth was their best player. I can see why they signed him to a first team contract.

Best chance was in 82' when Ryo Shimazaki pounced on a stray pass and fired a laser from 25 yards out. Only an acrobatic save from the Omaha keeper tipped it over the crossbar.

Commentators talked about these 2 expansion teams being built with very different philosophies. Omaha is an independent team with no parent club, and no academy, so they are comprised primarily of 2nd-chance USL players looking for a place to prove themselves.

The Revs had some academy players in the gameday roster, with 2 (Kaoru Fujiwara and Trevor Burns) getting into the game as subs.

Rumors that the Revs II have signed a player. Weirdly enough (as of now) if you search the name, you can see the Revs actually have built a page for him, but it's currently showing as an error.

Under the current circumstances, flying to Brazil to sign a player for the Revs II doesn't seem wise.
