Not that it changes the result, but like with our senior boys R2 had a penalty shout go unawares despite meeting the seemingly low bar for a foul set by the refs earlier in the game.

The U-19s didn't participate in this one. I guess they must have given them some well-deserved time off after the MLS Next Cup championship.

R2 have a bye this weekend before travelling to Columbus July 24th.

The U-19 goalie is a kid from Vermont. So the local news did a nice story on him and the U-19s, after winning the championship.

Nice. Max Weinstein, right? He's been on the bench for several R2 games, but hasn't played yet.

Did they have to play at Yankee Stadium as well?

After having last weekend off, R2 travel with the first team to Columbus, and will play Crew2 at Historic Crew Stadium on Sunday, July 24th, 5pm ET.

They will be without 4 players.

Also, Jacob Jackson, who has started 14 of the 15 games for R2, is out injured. Opportunity for U-19 hero Max Weinstein, or will they deputized Earl Edwards Jr./Knighton?

Revs II lost to Toronto II last night 2-0. My first time going to a game, had a blast. Once again, the referee was inconsistent. I guess I'm just going to have to get used to that.

Did Zwetsloot really get a straight red for language?

After being above the playoff line for the first 16 games of the season, R2 have now dropped below it, after earning only 1 point in the last 5 games. Their goal differential has gone from +2 to -8 in those 5 games.

U-19 hero GK Max Weinstein made his R2 debut in this one, recording 5 saves.

Weinstein was solid. There was a bit of a "brawl" where a couple of people were thrown down and lots of pushing and shoving. Toronto's keeper came all the way into the other half of the field and got involved, and sure looked like he headbutted someone, but the ref didn't see it. I think the red for Zwetsloot was due to what happened in the pushing and shoving, but I'm not fully sure.

While the first team travels to Orlando on Saturday, R2 continue south to Fort Lauderdale to take on Inter Miami II on Sunday.

R2 trying to break a six-game losing streak (including shootout losses).

I remember when it seemed like we had too many keepers.

We still do, we're about to sign Diop to go with Petro, Edwards, and Knighton.

You dont need 5 keepers on the roster

What I just read suggested this was a move for the off-season when Knighton will be out of contract and Edwards has an option and could leave as well. It sounds like Diop is expected to be the #2 when up to speed.

Seven MLS-affiliated clubs to join MLS NEXT Pro in 2023

    Thursday, Aug 4, 2022, 03:00 PM

ATL, LAG, NYRB moving from USL-C
    Expansion: Austin, Charlotte, LAFC2, Nashville

There will be 28 teams in MLS-NP in 2023. That leaves DCU and MON as the only MLS clubs without an MSL-NP team. Rochester remains the only non-MLS club.

Back on the winning track, as Revs II match the Revs senior squad gaining their own 1-0 victory. Revs II beat Chicago, with Cayet scoring the only goal of the game in the 52nd.

Narrator: They did not. Couple of weeks ago, Revs and Revs II won at home by 1-0 scorelines. This weekend, they both lost by four goals on the road. Consistency, baby!
