I used to go the their informal reserve games/scrimmages all over. It was great to be able to just stand on the sideline and watch the game up close (seeing Khano fly up the wing a few feet away gave a real appreciation for his unique physical ability - though, not his ball skills).

I saw a lot of games at Babson, at Harvard (across the road from the stadium), Wrentham State School, Bowditch Field in Framingham and probably a few other places. It was one of those at Babson vs. a minor league club that Gio Savarese got injured by a rough tackle and there was nearly a brawl as a result.

After squeaking into the playoffs as the 10th seed, then upsetting the 7th seed in the play-in round, Revs South (aka Birmingham Legion) faced the 1-seed Pittsburgh and lost 7-0. Herivaux gets a DOGSO red card after it was already 5-0.

"We want to make sure that the players that we sign fit into our culture." I wonder if they're going to offer USL contracts to some former academy players who've recently graduated college.

The Revs have a plan? What a concept. This is one of the most encouraging pieces I have seen suggesting a concrete plan to making the franchise competitive. Now if they will just execute!

He sounds like a good pick to run the reserve team. I remember him back in the day as a player, and the fact that he has been coaching for a long time in the college game and with lower-level teams means that he would have been an infinitely better coach that the last 2 ex-players the Revs hired.

Who knows, if Arena decides to retire in a few years he could be groomed as a logical replacement.

ABMOD would be higher on the food chain, no?

I think so. But, I think his staff is full of coaching prospects.

I'm very excited about this (Revs II) team.

I was wondering if they were planning double-headers, but it looks like, for the most part, II will play the day before or day after the Revs (I would think day-after would be the best scenario, because then everyone is available for selection for the Revs I and those who didn't get significant minutes could suit up for Revs II).

Possible double-headers would be: April 25th and July 8th. Most typical is Revs II playing on Friday and Revs I playing Saturday.

I don't know for sure, but I'm not sure it works like that. I assume the USL has rules about loans, it's not like the old reserve games.
