    Weeellll.

Since there's an [R] in the thread title, I think you should feel free to comment away.

Hell, I'm following on Matchtracker anyway (who can resist).

Sounds like Clint is having a good game.

Yes Clint is having a good game. but the ref (Prus) scares me. (with the PK (almost) call that was superceded by the offside)

Not much happiness on the Fire board right now. Twellman just had a chance for a hat trick

Why Taylor?! Finally has a solid game and then gets a red on a dumb challenge. Hope he can pick up where he left off.

Was Noonan banged up? It was weird seeing him pulled like that. Gonna need him while Taylor is out.

Three cheers for the captain! Joe played a heck of a game. Go Revs!

This was the break out match that the Revs needed. It was obvious that they were out to attack and now that TnT has gotten a few---look out. The Fire were able to open some holes in our defense tonight but John came uo huge a bunch oif times. Good match for Franchino and Kamler with Dempsey doing his usual good job. Baker looked good from the left wing---HE CAN PUT IN GOOD CROSSES!

I thought that TnT's Red Card should have been yellow since it was just a tired players lunge with no intent to hurt. There were a number of terrable Fire fouls that could have been Red but were only yellow---but thats the way it goes.

A huge Rev win. I'm going to watch this one again :D later tonight only this time from the Revs feed (FSNE). Listening to the Fire "homers" calling the match on Direct kick was a real drag.

This is the turning point for the Revs. I think we all knew it. We may have been a bit confused in the start but Steve must have done some good talken during Half time because i haven't seen the Revs play that well in long time. Congrats to Twellman with a welcme home 2 goals! But i must take that congrats away for that god awful tackle. How will we play with no Twellman once agian? Baker improved a bit, i knew that last game was a fluke. Reis showed a nice turn of skill in my opinion, but i still think our defence needs some refining the through passes killed us, we need to watch those. All in all the Revs are back in action and won't be surprised to see us challenging the Metros for that top spot sooner or later.

3-1, this is the turning point

Hate to be a wet blanket after such a great game, but I was standing in line to get Dempsey's autograph after the game, and they shut down the line, saying that he had a broken jaw and wouldn't be signing.

I hope they were exagerating. Twellman and Dempsey made a great combination up top, now they may both be out Saturday.

Avery John had his best game as a Rev.

Twellman DID have 2 goals, and Franchino returned to left back. Just call me Nostradamus! :)

Good to see Joseph and Cancela return to the lineup (I didn't see that coming)!

The way things have been for us this year I wouldn't be surprised
I saw that knock he took from CJ Brown and thought that Brown should have gotten his second yellow. Brown committed at least 4 yellow card offenses tonight and only got one.
One thing Clint is going to need to learn is how to keep his head protected. He attacks the game head first more often than is wise--unless you want to get creamed. Sure hope they are wrong about him having a fractured jaw.

This team plays well when Ralston is at right back in a 3-5-2, His abilities to get forward and to overlap makes Baker a constant threat on the right wing esp with Kamler on the left. The midfield spine of Dempsey, Joseph and Pepe needs a little work to be fully on the same page but I think this midfield is going to evolve to be a solid unit.

I have to give it to the Direct kick announcers tonight. Inspite of their Chicago ties they were pretty even calling the match.

Hope that Dempsey broken jaw isn't true, that kid is a PLAYER.
He was walking out of 2 to 3 players all nite with absolutely sic skill, gets the pass off, then RUNS off his pass. Everytime he touches the ball he's dangerous and his attitude is all that of a nasty striker, the anti - Adu, he never smiles, gotta love that.

Twellman needs some new boots, preferably with spikes on the bottom.

Joseph's cannon off the post had GOTW all over it.

Noonan looks lost and he and beas were 30 yards apart all night.

He had a real off night. The Baker substitution was an immediate upgrade and resulted in the first goal.

So CJ might have broken Demp's jaw? Didn't he almost break Kamler's nose last game? Accidentally.

Isn't it about time for the "Ooooops, I'm a clumsy Oaf" dispensation to expire for MLS defenders? I mean...Fer crissakes...!!!

(apologies, of course, to Danny Califf and Buffy Curtin...)

Poor Stevey Nics, the vaudeville show of young NE players just continues for him. If he hadn't had to take out Noonan, who do you think he might've taken out late in the game (say, to put in Brilliant...)?

I think that when Noonan gets put on the wing he sees himself of more of a role player which he does not know how to be.

He was the go to guy all through college and last year when Taylor went down he stepped up and showed he could be the gamebreaker here too.

When Taylor is playing over 50 ball he's still going to be demanding the ball and trying to be the man and Dempsey is EARNING through his play the confidence of his teamates to be the go to guy.

All three are good (still think Dempsey will eclipse the other two) and on the fringe of the Nats but right now I think that it'll be a rarity if all 3 play their best at the same time

You know how the National Hockey League has goons. Major League Soccer has them, too. CJ Brown is a MLS goon.

Don 'Pee Wee Herman' Garber needs to eradicate the league of this element.

After a little more thinking on Twellmans red card, I managed to find a some what optimistic view on it. Through out the game Twellman was pushing himself hard, maybe too hard. He cramped a few times, and would loose his balence alot. He just always seemed to be hurting and at some points I thought his hamstring had pulled again. I think sittling out one more game may do his body good. He can work on simple Aroebic (I can't spell, sry) excercises and get into shape again, the last thing i want is TnT to have his fuse put out again. This may hurt our attack for the Columbus game, but we still got Dempsey... hopefully. Why was his face down there anyway? Hopefully the person who told NFLpatriot about the injury was exagerating, which i think he was because you keep playing with a busted jaw!

    lets start a win streak!

A win streak? I have completely forgotten what that feels like...Dempsey looked in some pain. Getting kicked in the face isn't the funnest or best feeling in the world, just ask Taylor. But if he broke his jaw like the guy told NFLPatriot, Dempsey would have been subbed off.

    In a big country
Just got back from the game...

Another home win! I wonder what's wrong with TNT. He missed the keeper a couple of times tonight. ;)

2nd half was very good! Everyone really showed up to play, with the exceptions of noonan and leonard, who weren't so hot while they were on. Overall, though, great work!

    My MOTM:

    Dempsey
    Twellman
    John

But you could make a case for many.

I would give Franchino or Kamler MOTM honors before John. He's too reckless IMO and should've gotten a yellow on a leg twist tackle he made.

The anouncers were even handed but VERY dull. Where's the excitement people? Wish we could get the guy from Univision to call games.
