Ref was shit. Neal had two red cards. Davies didn't dive.

The revs were shit too. Long ball, no width. That said, Sene could have had a hat trick if he could strike a ball. Teal could have had two as well.

Mariner is excellent at times. I am always down with some good mocking....

72nd minute -- handball, questionable, against DCU -- "Is he protecting his tooomy?"

Is it time to give Knighton a crack yet? Not that it looked like the Revs were going to tie it, but that 2nd DC goal was terrible.

Minute 75 -- Arnaud complains and wildly and gesticulates about Dorman tackle, while he awaits MLS disciplinary committee's ruling on his breaking of Sene's ankle last season. Shut the f_ck up you hack.

[Yes, I agree with Mariner's praise earlier of what a "wonderful" professional he is. But I bleed Revs. And I am still pissed about the really crappy careless unprodessional tackle on Sene, and how that has resulted in a even-less-physical Sene this season, if that were even imaginable. Yet Heaps continue to play Sene for the lions share of the minutes, even though he is so tentative it is truly sad. Sad, I say.]

If Sene is going to play, he needs to play up front as a striker. Bunbury is not scoring any goals on his own. Almost everyone can see this. Why we still play with a lone striker with one goal in 5 games is beyond me?

The Revs have scored twice. Did you forget Goncalves' goal tonight?

Mariner right again - no quality in the attacking 3rd tonight.

Soft, soft, soft. Flat, flat, flat. Jay, what is it that you are doing to get them ready (or not) before games? How is it that your team is not ready to play DCU? No excuse, it's bad. Total lack of focus, intensity, desire, commitment, etc.

55:35 - does Bunbury have any left foot at all? My U12 players know when to strike with left foot better than him. WTF. "Pretzeling Up" is not a useful move.

I missed this live as I was watching UConn make the NCAA finals!! Just watched the game on tape and will copy and paste my raw unedited thoughts during the match.

Sene misses sitter in 20th minute.
Announcers commentating on this being a fierce rivalry. Meh.
Sene shoots high from top of box in 33rd minute.
Neal studs up twice in the first half.
Goncalves own goal, worse than Bernardez last week.
Bunbury great move but poor spot on his shot in the 49th.
Bunbury misses the goal in the 55th minute, tough finish, but needs to put it on goal.
Bunbury misses Diego through the middle in the 56th minute.
Sene falls down on a nice Tierney ball in the 58th minute. Slightly behind him, but could have handled it.
Nguyen running straight at the goal from 18 yards and he passes to Bunbury who can't decide what to do and hits a poor shot off goal.
Tierney awful corner only outdone by DeLeon's ensuing awful cross.
    DC missing a playmaker badly.
Dorman making bad tackles on a yellow.
Charlie Davies nearly whiffs trying to pass in the 76th minute.
Eddie Johnson still sucks, shot right into Shuttleworth on the break.
Goncalves gets away with what appeared to be a penalty/red card. Espindolas shoe comes off.
Heaps complaining about DC restarting it when Bunbury won't give them 10. Idiot.
Like for like substitutions, no urgency.
Davies actually gets tripped, but makes a meal of it so the official assumes he was diving. Davies doesn't bother complaining because he deserves about 20 of those over the years.
Jay Heaps is a whiny bitch who has no control of his emotions and shows no leadership qualities. He looked like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
Dorman...I don't even know what he's trying to do in the 91st minute. Some sort of forward overhead kick attempt but aiming in the opposite direction.
Chris Rolfe scores, because, why not? Goncalves caught sleeping, slips through Shuttleworth's body.

Awful, awful game with nearly no quality shots on goal and no imagination or creativity.

    Meanwhile, watch POR-SEA. No comparison.

After 17 years, many as STH, I am ready to quit. There's really no reason to suck this much. It really is a big f'n scam here in Boston.

God almighty, he buried it. Solid strike into left corner.

Teal, Saer, Diego, Charlie - are you watching? That is how to do it. Leave no doubt. Kill it.

The gap in caring about the quality on the field is getting pretty stark. Here in MLS we have teams whose starting sides are EPL quality [maybe lower EPL, but still of that quality] to teams, such as the Revs, who operate as Leeds/League One, at best.
I have great hopes for the league, but as long as Kraft runs the Revs I have no hope they will be anything more than chum.

No worries... it'll all be fixed after the World Cup when we sell Bengtson to Real Madrid for friggin' 50 million bucks, which we will then use to buy Gabriel Badilla 2.o.

At least we can look forward to the draft... oh, wait.

    Back to reality...

I am about to give up on Teal. He had chances but didnt do much with them. He should be better than he is however he's not all that's wrong. I have trouble blaming forwards until the midfield is right and theyre getting regular service but blowing it (were close to that now) While Lee is working his butt off, nothing much is coming of it in the way of quality chances. We just can't get anything done in the final 1/3. Last week, Lee decided to go for it himself and we got a result. Maybe thats the answer... dont pass to the forwards lol Either that or move Goncalves up front, he does have a scoring touch.

Something has to change and I'd start with Sene. This guy is not going to go for anything where there might be contact. You can see him pull back if it looks like there will be any kind of contact. If hes not willing to go for it then he can't play. Thats just one example... he's not the only problem.

I watched the Portland-Seattle game yesterday...OMG its a good thing we dont see them very often. Like night and day...them to us

Was at the game and had a nice team meeting some other Revs supporters, about 1/2 from the local area and the others who travelled from various places. Probably about 17 in total in the away supporters section: Security outnumbered us actually.

Heaps was out-coached tonight with the team being out-worked and out-hustled, that's the game there. Olsen did well to bottle up the middle which made it difficult for Ngyuen to get the ball wide and it didn't help that Nguyen got little to no support from his teammates in making moves/runs off the ball: Too much standing around and ball watching in the first half.

The Revs lacked energy almost the entire match and it seemed evident even during warm-ups: There was no spring in their step and nothing looked sharp.

Davies didn't dive as much as he tried to turn a soft tackle into something more.

Thanks to some good saves and poor finishing the match ended at 2-0 and not 5-0.

BTW, nice to see a number of Revolution players acknowledge the away support including a few quite dejected looking players post match mainly Goncalves, Sene and Fagundez.

Remember folks, no need to talk about the open roster spots. Not like we need the help. It's either that, or these games don't count. All I can think of for the reasoning to have gone through 15% of the schedule with 3 spots open.

And also remember, the forward situation isn't a question mark for this team. We're all set, nothing to worry about.

Apparently we just need to gel.

God that was awful to watch. Kick it hard and deep and play Route 1 ball. Oh so fun to watch. And I can't wait to hear about how we lost because of the ref again (yes he missed the call, but there was no urgency from this team regardless).

BTW, absolutely clinical finish by JoGo.

Bunbury couldn't even put the ball on frame which worries me because as a striker you need to at least make the keeper work. With Hamid out last night was a great chance to test Dykstra and see what happens. We talk a lot about formations, chance creation etc - well last night Bunbuy was given opportunities but is simply not clinical in front of goal. I don't know if it's confidence, coaching or what but he needs to sit to give Imbongo a shot up top. He isn't able to read the game and make good runs to give his teammates an outlet and simply doesn't look good with Sene or Davies.

I feel like Heaps will stick with Bunbury until he scores and then will reward him with more playing time. In the mean time the revs will continue to lose 1-0, 2-0 and not score any goals.

Also, the Rolfe goal should have been saved. That was on Shuttleworth.

So much for building on last week's good performance, this game was just so blah, so lacking. I was really tired when I watched it, so maybe I was more prone to being being brought down by it or something, but I just feel like there wasn't anything even worth breaking down from the game, it was a worthless performance. Even the own goal was blah, I've seen far better, and far worse.

At some point, we will be done with the Tierney experiment? Right? Please?

That corner that bounced before it was easily cleared by the first defender ... f'in awful. God that pissed me off.

Yeah, I was thinking as I saw that, to flog that favorite descriptor for his foot, I think those cultures in his left foot, that were supposedly so healthy for the team, have finally gone bad, and it's time to throw the whole container out before the team gets any more, and they're made to look even more sick than they already do.

I'm sure we'll be hearing about the red card that should have been. I'm sure we'll hear that we shouldn't over react. I'm sure we'll hear that 4 of the first 5 were on the road.

    All legit.

But it doesn't matter. 4 points out of 15. Not good. Only LA has scored less goals. But then again, they've only played 2 games.

    Through 4 games --

Own Goals by opponents, in Revs favor,
    and
Own Goals by Revs in favor of opponent
    are on pace with
    Real Goals scored by Revs.

    Now that's a stat.
