Well in spite of these ongoing frustrations, do I detect a tiny degree of solidification of the Revo in the last two games?

I'm always going to be happy to see the team busting their asses. These four points are great, but they'd have been better before such a huge hole was dug in the first place.

Absolutely. Much better performances last week. Down a man on the road and coming back to tie? Much better.

Is it a blip, like the run in the 2010 Super Liga? Or is the team is starting to find itself?

All the better to make a "2002" type run to the last spot in the playoffs and then a march to win MLS Cup :D:D:D

Doc, I'll become a card carry member of the Koolaid Drinker Society of this board if the Revs go on a run and win the 2011 MLS Cup.

Solidification? Did you go out of your way not to use the G-word so that we wouldn't have to drink

Doc, if this team even makes the playoffs this year, I will climb on top of your mini van during the tailgate for the playoff game and scream out "In Nicol we Trust" wearing a Kool aid Shirt

Ha ha, no, actually I was describing to my self -all season- that the team was like Jell-O. I just thought that what I witnessed over the last two games was a little move away from Jell-O. Some coagulating seems to be taking place, hopefully. So the word "solidification" began bouncing around my cranium. ;)

    Yeah ... this.

There is NO comparison between what happened in '02 to this year. That year, every team in the East finished below .500. That year, no matter what, 4 teams from the East were going to make the playoffs. That year, we only had to make sure we were the third worst team in the league to make the playoffs.

None of that applies this year.

Your on: If that comes about (they make the Playoffs) I will have you--and MONTY-- stand in the back of my truck and I will ride you through all the parking lots to show off you KAD shorts and we will record your chants so it can be piped over the PA system at halftime. :D

I'm not sure your correct in your analysis. It's not about how many teams in the East who will make the playoffs. It's about what this team (and the 2002 Revs needed to do to make the playoffs when they dug themselves into a huge hole. If I remember correctly in 2002 the Revs needed to almost win out in their last 8 games to get in. This years team is so far down they almost need to do the same thing. What the 2002 team did was improbable. What the 2011 Revs need to make the playoff in HIGHLY improbable.

(FWIW, unless the Revs add some potent reinforcements in the very near term I would upgrade the above from highly improbable to damn near impossible) :D

Doc, the difference is that year, they didn't need to jump over as many teams as we would now to make the playoffs. That makes a huge difference because the amount of other teams results that affected us that year is lower than what would do the same this year. We're currently 15th in PPG this season, we need to jump over 5 teams just to get to the 10th spot.

Sorry, mathematically these are two completely different scenarios.

BTW that team went 5-0-1 in their last 6 games. I just don't think this team has any capability to win 5 games in 6 at this point.

Even if I don't agree with most of you most of the time why would I do something like that which would damage your health? :)

Not even to shut you up. Remember, the bottom line of an oath we Doctors take is "Above all do no harm". Hell, if it would get you guys and gals to stop smoking and lessen your drinking I'd even allow myself to to make my post sound more like I was a NNN :p

Lekic is the kind of player who can be either a hit or a major disappointment.. you just have to look at his career to see that...

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/rajko-lekic/leistungsdaten-detail/spieler_22472.html

Great while playing for Silkeborg, but a flop at Esbjerg and OB Odense... though it should be said he also had a scoring crisis in his last season for Silkeborg, just before he moved to the New England Revolution... Perhaps he is just the kind of player that too easily get unhappy and need too much time to settle at a new club.

Nah, all you got to do is give them tofu and beet juice when you lose the bet. That should keep them healty for a long time, so you won't miss out on any of their negativity. :p

Or better yet, how about tofu-flavored bacon for the worst of both worlds?

Not speaking for Monty but I'm sure he would agree that tofu and beet juice would not cut it

Actually for you and Monty my recommendation would be a High Colonic to improve how you see things.
