Since I moved from Boston two years ago, I have seen precious little of the Revs, but this has to go down as the best game I have ever seen the Revs play. Not as entertaining as the 4-3 win over the Mutiny in the rain -- with Baba's late goal and the Gorter post-game slide -- but one that showed a professionalism, intelligence, and tactical awareness that I have never seen from the Revs before. Not to mention the stakes involved as a comprehensive win in a playoff game, and -- taken in the context of the 7-game run -- the hint that this may be the long-awaited reversal of fortune. Any thoughts?
in the "relatively meaningless yet entertaining game" category....i really enjoyed the 3 goal in last 22 min come-from-behind 3-2 victory over k.c. in 1999. in the rain, on a weekday, barely 3-4k in the stands. i'd hardly call it the best game though. 4-3 win over metros in 2000 home closer with franchino taking the winner was another up and down exciting match. still, for my $, last sat's game with the whole streak and all... plus, the stuff that was on the line for the po's...that had to be the "biggest" i can think of right now.
