With now 3 players possibly on transfer-watch (even if only rumors), it feels like we have to be all in for this year.

I would think that the Revs would have a least one player in this game:

    A certain Spaniard, at least.

28, 3 goals in two years, does anyone remember Jose Morales? Thought not!

First Spaniard in MLS. He assisted on Mauricio Wright's game winner against Chicago in game 2 of our 2000 playoff series, our first ever postseason victory. Otherwise totally undistinguished as a Rev.

I remember him. I thought he looked good, but didn't produce much. OTOH, he didn't get much of a look - the equivalent of 5 full games, one goal.

But, back to Juanmi, seeing as how Gil was just an ordinary (maybe even borderline) starter in La Liga and is best-XI in MLS now ...

Since we already have 3 DPs and major money tied up in them, I can't imagine that they're looking at him for a big-money contract ... unless there is more to the Buksa rumors than Arena has admitted. Could be they are kicking the tires to see if he's available for a mid-level contract to kick-start his career in MLS? I'd be fine with that. We want depth, right?

Man oh man - this stat line is good as it is even with still somewhat subpar finishing.

Imagine what this stat would look like if one or more strikers suddenly gets hot and goes on a stone-cold-killer finishing streak.

We've obviously been rather focused on how this team has been doing, but the summer window closes in just about 10 days (August 7th).

I'm curious to see if the Revs actually make a move, especially as I'm seeing a lot of movement right now around the league.

In his own words, "purely a thought exercise" from Doyle, but he shows some love to Farrell and Polster:

    I like Andrew, but I think he's over-rating him.

And, with Polster, yeah he's good at the two most important jobs, if you agree with that analysis, but he's seriously lacking at the third - starting the transition.

Halfway point of the season, and Bou has 10 goals (second in MLS behind Ruidiaz, at 11), and Buksa has eight. If Buksa had hit the woodwork a touch less, he'd also have 10 or 11. Bottom line, with both those guys on the field at the same time, and with Gil behind them, things look good for the second half of the season.

Sean digging up some "great" memories of so many opportunities missed for lack of roster moves.

It does seem unexpected (at least to me) the with Bruce in charge the Revs didn't make a move in this window. I had hopes for more aggressive action on a consistent ongoing program of intentional improvements to roster quality. To skip a window is (very) at odds with that.

Oh well. Fool me twice and then some.

(Of course, I don't "know" that he doesn't have some terrific free transfers waiting in the wings... but no rumors to that effect that I've seen.

Even if that's the case, free transfers are usually free because they're "less wanted" in general - Messi excepted. I had hope that Bruce would aim higher.)
