For those that deferred, 11 of the 17 games are after the deferral ends. That leaves you with 5 Saturday, 3 Wednesday and 3 Sunday games.
With no way of knowing what percentage of people deferred, I'd guess the limited attendance will probably allow only about 1 game for each season-ticketholder during that deferral period (up to July 3rd or so, IIRC). Of course, the Guv may relax live attendance restrictions more over the next few months. If we keep getting vaxed and doing the right things, we can get the numbers down and return to live Rev (and other) games (and other fun stuff).
Someone mentioned that during the virtual team event, the Revs said they're looking at about 8K per game till the July 10th match. As of now, they're mostly limiting to STH only, which would mean if you didn't defer, you should be able to go to most games.
Interesting, as 8K is 12% of 68,000. So it sounds like they are planning on opening the entire stadium (which makes sense).
At the STH event Brian said that they will have space at every game for all the STHs that did not defer. He also said that they will only be using the 100, 200, and club levels.
Some random thoughts on the Revs schedule: SAT - 17 SUN - 7 WED - 10 No more than 2 games in a row at home or on the road. Latest start time is 8:30pm ET (@CHI, @NSH, @DAL) Four national TV games, all cable: ESPN (2x), ESPN2, FS1 Second team to visit new stadium in Cincy, first to Columbus'. Miami Beckhams make their first ever visit to Foxboro on Decision Day. With 14 teams (7 each conf) making the playoffs this year, Revs wouldn't have qualified in 2020. With 8 MLS teams qualifying for the 2022 Leagues Cup (top 4 non-CCL teams from each conference), 5th place or better should guarantee international games.
After watching MLS last year and the NHL this year, I'm getting really sick of the unbalanced schedules. Yesterday I watched the Bruins play the Devils again. Next game up? The Devils. Again. How many times did we play Philly last year ... 4, 5? I guess its good we play the LA teams in preseason, because we won't see them once the games count (unless ...). Another year without seeing teams on the other side of the Mississippi.
True. And, veering further off-topic the Stanley Cup playoffs should be especially weird this year, when after the first round or two, teams will be facing opponents that they haven't played all season (typically, until the final, the teams know each other quite well).
The frustrating thing is I don't get this channel here in CT but if I were to try to view the game through ESPN or MLS kick or whatever it's going to tell me it's blacked out in my local area because I'm in New England. I basically can only see our few nationally televised games.
Here's the tweet ATTENTION REVS FANS – CBS Boston is your new home for New England Revolution soccer! Season opener 4/17 on #wbz https://t.co/TcdQlKlFwc cc:@NERevolution pic.twitter.com/8XyTs3oBzP— WBZ | CBS News Boston (@wbz) April 8, 2021
As a cable cutter and someone who has refused to look into a la carte options for NBCSN this is great news. I've really missed watching the games over the past few years. Sorry to hear some CT folks get put into a blackout/network coverage cluster though.
My first thought was that I was in the same boat - I don't get WBZ; my local channels come out of Burlington. I have Fubo, and I found CBSN in the line-up. Who knew and yeah for me, I hope. I also looked at my CBS Sports app. I am not guaranteeing anything but try that app, it's free and all you have to have is a program that carries CBS.
Just wish they were on NESN. Crazy that I get the New England Free Jacks games and not the Revs. I do actually like Rugby but still..
Games on channel 4 should be good quality - hoping that the same will be true on 38. Disappointed (but not surprised) that they are bringing back the same failing broadcasting crew.
