Forever ... not a decade. Forever.

I'm still worried about the depth at CB. I'm still curious where the playmaking comes from if Gil gets injured again. And what we saw towards the end of the year, was that the real Buksa, or are we going to have issues finding the net again?

The Revs only have 23 players signed. Burns isn't here anymore, so more players have to be coming. I believe Bruce had the roster up to 29 by end of last season.

Bruce said after the draft he expects one more signing. The rest I assume will be depth pieces.

My take on Buksa is that he needs proper service to realize his potential. He's not good at taking on defenders. Also, he only has one shooting foot, which is frustrating.

March 10 the MLS transfer window opens and goes to June 1. My concerns are still CB. Farrell, Kessler and Verfurth are it right now. They drafted Dulysse and traded for the rights to Bell but they look to be signed with Revs II. I hope this will be addressed sooner rather than later. I'd like to see another attacking mid option as well. We saw how stagnant the revs offense was with Gil out.

Owning the MLS rights to Dulysse and Bell means they can stay with R2 until needed, then signed to the first team at a moments notice.

But I agree they need a 4th CB on the roster day 1. Maybe they are waiting on the price to come down on one of the MLS free agents still out there (Axel Sjoberg, Aurelian Collin, etc.).

I also agree, I have liked to see a proper CB3 or even a CB2b signed.

I think they expect a combination of DLG and Bye to fill in at CB, although both Farrell and Kessler appear to be reasonably durable. Maybe Caicedo in a pinch

Kessler could potentially miss multiple games being with the US Olympic squad.

I'd expect that CBs signed for Revs II would have the opportunity to win a first team roster spot in camp.

Too early to call this off-season a bust?

    Code:
    Arnor Traustason 12 app, 9 GS, 676 min, 0G, 2A
    Maciel . . . . . 9 app, 8 GS, 630 min, 0G, 0A
    Jon Bell . . . . 6 app, 5 GS, 441 min, 1G, 0A
    Wilfrid Kaptoum. 6 app, 2 GS, 192 min, 0G, 0A
    Edward Kizza . . 7 app, 0 GS, 76 min, 0G, 0A
    Christian Mafla. 1 app, 0 GS, 54 min, 0G, 0A
    AJ DeLaGarza . . 1 app, 0 GS, 36 min, 0G, 0A
    Ema BoatEng . . 1 app, 0 GS, 26 min, 0G, 1A
    Earl Edwards Jr. 0 app
Without the 2 signings from R2, it would be a disaster so far.

Ema and Wilf look like players that will help. Hardly busts

Arnie has gotten a long look and hasnt really done well. Bust is a strong word, but hes entering the territory.

Signing a guy called "glass legs" then being surprised hes injured is tough to reconcile.

De la Garza was always destined to be emergency depth. Ditto Edwards

At the start of the season, we were expecting Kaptoum, Mafla and Traustason to be regular starters. Only Arnor has, and even he hasn't started 3 of the last 4 games. It seems like Bruce's patience is running out on him.

It still seems (and I think Bruce was quoted to the point) that Kaptoum is being saved. Why or for what, I'm not sure. But it sure seems like it's getting to the time where he needs to be playing regularly and for long stretches.

not sure I get the value in saving a player unless Bruce knows he is injury prone and wants to save him for playoff time. If that is the case why sign an injury prone player to begin with?

Macial, Bell, Kizza and Edwards were players that really were not expected to make an immediate impact. All young players that would be counted on for the future. Any minutes out of them this year is a plus. De La and Boateng were always going to be spot starters and late game subs. Arnor, Kaptoum and Mafla is where the value was suppose to come from. They are players expected to either be starters or compete for starting roles. Arnor is a good player that seems to be having a hard time adjusting but after close to 700 mins and a couple months on the practice field he should be familiar with his teammates and producing better numbers. Mafla is a bust in every sense of the word. I'd be surprise if he is on the team through the off season. Kaptoum is a player that looks to be capable of making a difference on the defensive side but for some unknown reason is not seeing the field. At this point of the season I'd give the additions of Mafla, Arnor and Wilfred a D.

Yeah, and he's scored exactly zero professional goals. Bust for sure!
