We Beach Citizens are a strong, industrious people; we'll just build a Costner-esque floating city.

And we'd get it done sooner than an SSS

Hopefully you build some rafts to get the IROC's out there.

    This one?

It's kind of like a casino in that you go in, you pay a lot of money, and you come out with nothing to show for it.

So it is plausible then, that if a casino is awarded for Suffolk Downs, then Wonderland might immediately be available for a SSS?

We get a lot of cap for having attendance in the 13,000 range. I wonder what'd be like if we averaged 0 people per game?

It's why the Boston Braves moved to Atlanta: poor location. :D

Am I the only one that noticed that the "stadium" doesn't appear to have many stands?

I realize the Revolution's 2011 average attendance of 13,222 fans-per-game was nothing to crow about, but unless they're going to sit several deep on the laps of one another, BU's new facility isn't going to accommodate them. It has been designed to seat just 1,000.

If you were on a morning radio show, you would be what is called "the hole".

"Gary Nicksa, senior vice president for operations, says the open-air field will have... stadium seating for 1,000."

New Balance Field won't need "to have many stands". From the sounds of it, it is being built to serve as the home to BU's varsity field hockey team, some club sports programs, and a variety of intramural sports. It is meant to augment Nickerson Field, not serve as a major-capacity sports facility in its own right.

Exactly. Maybe jass read the "double their field capacity" and thought it meant double the stadium capacity. That's certainly what I thought until I looked at the rendering and read the whole article.

Would this be the same Speaker that pretty much everyone assumes will be indicted once Sal DiMasi starts singing like a canary?

    That Speaker?

I'm an excellent reader, thank you very much.

    That leaves two options.

    1) It is an accurate prediction of the revs fanbase in Fall 2013, when the field is scheduled to open
    2) Its a joke
    3) Its a mixture of a and b.

Just to be clear, it is definite that once the Gaming Commission (to be chosen by the Speaker, Senate President, and the Governor) corronates Suffolk Downs as the location for one casino, Wonderland will be able to be developed into a(n) SSS. It is also almost-definite that it will not.

DeLeo's a good guy. Sure, he was hand-picked by DiMasi upon resignation(who was hand-picked by Finneran upon resignation; who was hand-picked by Flaherty upon resignation....) but he's a good guy. I don't doubt that he has his hands dirty, but I doubt Sal has any real reason to start "singing". But, either way, the fact remains that the Speaker will continue to hold his unspeakably awesome power until whatever scandal brings him down, brings him down

It's definite that it will be eligible for development as a(n) SSS.

It's also almost definite that it will not actually be developed into a(n) SSS.

Ok. Well, then why is it almost definite that it won't be? Thanks.
