It's getting a little thin at Forward. Sounds liuke JMM kis out for at least a few weeks. Sure good that the Revs signed Fangoso or we would have to play a midfielder up top.

Seriously who do we have that can play up top as a sub if Noonan or TnT can't play for some reason? I think Jay Heaps was a forward in College as was Bully Joseph. Anyone among the new guys that can play forward

Good point Doc! where we once had a plethora of forwards, although none of them barnburners after the top two, we now are genuinely thin. With Joe Max on a dodgy knee and Nats obligations sure to wear on Noonan and Twellman (if only through sitting on airplanes) we could be looking at all manner of combos up front. And, with Nicol's track record for surprising performances, we could see the return of Paul Mariner!

joking aside, we are scanty in the forward dept.

I thought Twellman's quote in the 'all the rage' article was interesting given some of his quotes in the last week or so. Basically we need to work on our finishing, gone was the concern over the 'bring the ball forward' strategy.

We can just play Chris Brow......oh, um, forget it.
(That's right, we had to free up cap space for Luke Vercollone) :D

I still think we may see Jerry White in a Rev Kit but not until they solve the Avery John piece pf the puzzle. I think the Revs want him and he can be signed--if we have the money. I think solving the defender problem must take priority but if JMM is down for any amount of time that could change.

Wasn't Dempsey a forward in college? He looks like a decent target player to me, something Noonan, Twellman, and JMM aren't. Something we need. Yes he is adequate at DMid, but nothing special yet and there are other players (Dorman, Vercollone, Franchino) who might do as well or better.

I thought Depsey looked good as well. Who knows, maybe he will turn into this year's Noonan, who was last year's Twellman.

Any early word on who is likely to miss the Galaxy game?

From what I've read JMM is probably out.. How about the guys who missed the Mutts game?

Kamler also played some forward in college, I think. Can Dorman play forward?
Also, hasn't Baker played some time at forward in the past?

Guys we had three abailable subs last week and another player just went down with injury, we're a little thin everywhere. Hopefully some of the guys who were out last week will be healthy enough to contribute this week, but man they're really ina jam regarding this stuff due to MLS' small rosters. Just goign to be a grind until they can get some guys healthy. WTF is up with JMM getting injured again though? I thought he played okay the last game but for the ammount of money this guy is against our cap vs. his production and health issues... man what a waste.

Well at least this week's game is at home so they won't be limited to the traveling roster, i.e. there should be more subs available...but who would they be you may ask. A good question indeed.

I expected that at some point JMM would tire, having played a less taxing position in previous games and working very hard on defense. I thought the best substitution would be to bring Dorman in to play dmid and move Dempsey up to his preferred position of amid. Then they listed the available subs, and no Dorman!

    Saw this: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/story/187411p-162281c.html

The Metros aren't giving any props to the Revs. They feel they played well up to the Revs 18, but then screwed up. Well, duh, maybe that's where the Revs defense stiffened?
