Interesting to note in Kalman's piece that Brown has been doing more weight training this off-season.

Good idea if you ask me.

JMM and Wolde Harris were on Sport Sunday last night (Sunday).

It's not a regular show for me so I don't remember the details except it was on later in the evening on something like Sports Channel. I just randomly found it surfing.

    From my bad memory:

JMM said he was happy to be back to his "second home", that he always had a good relationship with the fans, the front office, and the owners. They asked him about his "flip" goal celebration and he said he pretty much had done that since high school, but he didn't know how many more flips he had in him. He was overall upbeat, but it pretty much seemed like the usual "I've just signed so I'm going to say upbeat things like good player should" interview.

Somewhere it was mentioned that JMM could possibly get more fans in the seats.

Wolde was sporting this ultrathin (like 4mm thick line of beard very trimmed) beard that went down the side of his face from this hair, down around his chin, and back. It looked kind of cool. I'm probably describing it terribly.

In any case, we also seemed upbeat about the season. There was some wierd vibe between Wolde and the host (forgot name) having to do with Wolde "finally" coming on the show. Is this the show that some Rev's dissed back last year?

Host asked Wolde if it was tough basically disappearing from the team mix, and what did it feel like to get back into the first team last season. Wolde said the earlier days were "confusing" (I took that to be reference to Clavijo), and that starting was much better. Host asked about new competition in JMM. Wolde said usual stuff about this being good for the team, also explaining that JMM could play midfield too, so that JMM was extra versatile.

Finally, they asked Wolde about his "Mike Tyson punch the flag pole" goal celebration. He said he wasn't sure where it came from, but it started with the Revs.

Mostly a fluffy interview with little true new information, but it was fun to watch.

The Joe-Max / Wolde segment was on Fox 25 last night during Butch Stearns' Sports Final (10:30pm on Sunday evenings. with a replay at 1:30am).

'Scrub' pretty much covered the whole segment, although it seemed that Butch was more interested in Joe-Max's Flip and Wolde's Boxer goal celebrations than anything else.

Butch used to cover the Revs, and although he's not a soccer fanatic, he at least makes an effort to give the team some air time, which is a good thing in my book. It was nice to see someone is talking about (and interested in) the Revs at this time of year.

And yes, it does seem that Joe-Max is indeed happy to be back in the fold here in New England. That makes two of us! I can't wait for the season to begin!

I've always respected Sterns, he broadcasts New England sports, and i mean New England Sports. He gets the names straight (unlike other stations (who called Wolde Harris Wolde Clark and still refer to the quakes as the clash.)
