Great news about Nicol. He's not flashy, but he knows how to coach. I thought he did a terrific job keeping the team upbeat and confident in his system during the winless streak.

Nicol is the anti-Hudson: he coaches and generally keeps his mouth shut re the media.

Revs record in last 36 regular season matches:
17-9-10. And it could have been better!

After the 5-2 win over the MetroStars I asked Stevie if he had any regrets playing all his starters when Bob Bradley opted to rest his best guys.

He laughed and said, "'If' is a funny word. We've got a saying in Scotland that goes like this: If my auntie had balls, she'd be my uncle."

The Scots are full of great ones like that. My favorite, from someone's signature on a world football forum:

"the Borders region of Scotland: where the women are men, and the sheep are bloody nervous!"
