Fede Javier Zanetti MKII. He can still run from deep there.

Yeah his knee is done for. I'm not sure how much longer his body can handle playing at this level.

His playing days are unfortunately over, but I think he'll play a valuable role and be an importance voice in the dressing room.

I am going to find it amusing if even with Carvajal out of the picture, Trent ends up behind Fede at RB.

Castilla has midfield options. Do not sleep on Cestero. If Fede is playing RB half the time, I expect him to be called up at some point.

Just be thankful our RB options are Trent or Fede instead of Lucas Vazquez getting the bulk of the starts. Love Lucas and all but he was just a shell of himself last year.

He’s finished top level. Just call it a career at the of season and go on a deserved retirement

Horrific news,he is done unfortunately.....Fede has to be a right back this season, there are better midfielders for Xabis system than him .Arda,Jude,Camavinga even Ceballos for ball control should be ahead of him

Tchouameni-Fede doesnt work,Fede right back and rotate him with Trent

Yeah it's not an injury, his knee is done. I just hope his contract isn't renewed as a courtesy.

If already happened once, club gave him the respect he deserved. He'll be 34.5 yo by the time next season starts. His contract is expiring in summer. Hopefully the club wins the UCL, so he can retire with most in history (7) and try to play the WC.

Good think Trent is already here. Bad thing is he seems to have issues as well. Tough luck to Fede at RB. Team needs you.

I hate this for Dani. He deserves a better ending to his career.

Agreed; he's done at this level. Even Rodri who had an ACL at 28 is constantly injured and not at the same level as he was prior.

Next summer we need to find a young RB.

No chance. Trent will back to world class level once he gains match fitness. Look where Jude was vs Atleti and now.

If his final image as a Real Madrid player was telling a foolish Yamal who had a night to forget to shut up, it would be a moment we'd all treasure.

PS: I can actually see him on the field again, but it won't be the same. It is just a great image to see Dani.

I thought Carva would look slow after ACL return like Alaba due to age. But didn't notice a huge drop off in pace when he played. Sadly his knees can't withstand his intense style of play for a period it seems.

Instead of predicting he's absolutely done for like many here did with Militao, I for one still thinks he has notable more to give. We'll see if this ends up being 3 or 6 months, either way would like to see him given another chance.

Let's look at it from the bright side, at least the procedure is an arthroscopic one. The docs just need to clean up his knee. He'll probably be match fit by Feb.

In addition to this we actually have an actual, supposedly world class, right back ready to step in.

Shame. With both players available, he still was the better choice, as crazy as that sounds.

I agree, it’s not a forgone conclusion that he’s done for good. It’s not looking great but let’s see what happens.

I especially agree on the Militao, I never understood why people thought a young fit player like him couldn’t recover from his second knee injury. This isn’t the 1980’s anymore. People bounce back from ACL’s all the time.

Going back to Carvajal. This man is a f*cking warrior and he’s on my more favorite players ever. I have so much respect for his low key off the field presence and his on field battle ready mentality. I hope we get to see him play again.

    Still criminally underrated outside Madrid.
Should be in the discussion of GOAT right backs.
