Lets make a list of players that we know will retire. If possible give a source.

    Chicago: none
    Colorado: John Spencer
    Columbus: none
    Dallas: Jordan Stone
    D.C. United: none
    Kansas City: Vuk Rasovic
Los Angeles: Andreas Herzog, Hong Myung-Bo
    MetroStars: none
    New England: none
    San Jose: none

now, I know I haven't listed any sources, but trust me on these, I've read all this information on either MLSnet and/or the official team websites. And no, I don't mean, 'I'm pretty sure I saw this somwhere' I mean 'these are names I just found in articles on those sites saying that they would retire.' And when you post here please don't say something like: "Looks like Ekelund will retire, but I really don't know."

Pretty interesting that most of the names are SI's. I'd love to see the league replace these players with players like Ronnie O'Brien.

those are right. we know they're right cause they weren't on the protected or unprotected lists for the expansion draft. I'm pretty sure there aren't any others known yet. Ekelund had his option declined and MAY try to find another club (would require compensation). Howey is returning to England, may or may not play there. The ones that haven't decided - Maissoneuve, Pareja, Llamosa, and Preki. I'd be really surprised if any others are considering it. Most either have guaranteed contracts or something to prove (Moore). Lagos and Chung I haven't heard either way.

as you saw in this other thread

I listed the older players for those who want to see the "candidates"

in short, your list is likely up to date

he was... until he retired (and they did drop him as a p-40 after the season... at least i'm pretty sure)

he's going to use the p-40 scholarship fund to go to school... best of luck to him

Mais will be retiring in Columbus, probably to take a front office position. It hasn't been officially announced by the Crew and might not be announced til the springtime but it was reported in Thursday's Dispatch by Craig Merz, who's reporting is stenographic in nature.

yes he decided to quit pro soccer to go to college at Texas Tech.

I respect his wishes, but he had a possible bright soccer future, why let it go? I'd lose my left nut to be in his shoes
