I was impressed by Ivory Coast victory over France, especially after our game against them. It was totally deserved, France created nothing and Ivory coast defended very well, France didn't get an inch of space in the box. Congo is not as good as Ivory Coast but could be a problem. Mostly if we don't manage to score, not that afraid of their attack. Hopefully they will find it more difficult to defend against us as they did vs denmark.
Honestly nothing about Congo nor Uzbekistan makes me concerned. They weren't like how some teams went all out to at least tune up before the world cup. Let's see how Portgual does against Nigeria tomorrow; i want to see them without being down a player and allowed to play at full strength as they need a proper tune up.
The Haiti national team's jersey was rejected due to political imagery. The Colombian manufacturer, Saeta, has been advised to change it. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7350495/2026/06/11/haiti-world-cup-kit-change-fifa/ It's a bit sad that Colombian companies lack experience with international norms and regulations. I can’t blame Saeta for this design; it’s a cool concept, but I also understand FIFA's stance. It's similar to putting certain battles, like the Battle of Iwo Jima, on display, which might upset Japan.
I mean, yeah, there is some truth behind that. It's just that the smaller companies have to play the game to avoid losing the little money they are earning. Either way, the problem was fixed, they just removed the stamp and reprinted the shirt. So if it's a loss it's very minimal.
