That is what is going to be fun about it. More than likely it will be a failure.

I wonder if he will be able to make vinicius and rodrygo look more similar to the way they play in RM.
There will probably be jealous Brazilian calvo velez-types that will critisize his every move.

definitely, the usual conservative, nationalistic nonsense.

Carlo knows a ton of these guys too. He's managed loads of the top brazilians at all his clubs.

its going to be interesting seeing how he copes with the local league players

For the most part he is bad for Liverpool but not bad for Uruguay.
He is their leading scorer in Qualifying and is tied for third most goals behind Messi and Lucho.

Doesnt help us one bit, we need to keep venezuela below us in the table. Would be different if we had some game left against Uruguay. Nuñez doesn't suck as much for the NT as he sometime does for LFC.

That is the glass half empty way of looking at it.
We can also leap frog them in the standings. Uruguay are only one point ahead of us.

I just realized that two of Uruguay's three keepers play in Colombia.

    Crazy.

Another fun fact, Darwin Nunez has scored more goals for Uruguay's Senior team than all of their wingers and strikers combined on their current roster.

Paraguay post-copa has had an excellent record in the WCQ. They were down there with peru and chile on 8th spot. Now they're third and directly qualified. They have the opposite curve that we have. Hope it ends tomorrow.

Entertaining 0-0 between ecuador and brazil. Ecuador looked great but they don't produce any strikers.

Every team that did bad in copa do well now and vice versa. Argentina is the only team that has kept the same level.
Hopefully things will turn out differently in the WC too, that the teams that struggled qualifying do great and the ones that had a great quailfier do poorly.

how was Don Carlo's Brazil? I saw approximately 30-40 minutes and then had to go do some stuff but it seemed like a very european version of brazil.

They were ok but they had one of the toughest games in the qualifier, away to Ecuador. Brazil had a few options but Ecuador won on points for me. Ecuador has a world class defence and Brazil lacked raphinha, rodrygo and other guys so it's difficult to judge. But I think they will do well. I'm optimistic about Carlo, it was a tough debut.

It is all Alfaro. The guy can coach.
I think he will probably be our manager one day.

You would be the first to complain about his tactics and think it is boring and based too much on organization and defense.

    Ok so venezuela won.

I don't believe for a minute that Uruguay will beat them. Uruguay are playing almost as bad as we do. Bielsa should've been sacked months ago. So they are on a downward spiral and without darwin while Venezuela will fight until their last drop of sweat. Wouldn't surprise me if Venezuela shocked Uruguay with a surprise win here. And then if we lose they are going to be level with us and goal difference will decide it.

We still have a shot in via the backdoor. This qualifying process has been crazy.

Haha so we def losing to Argentina

Venezuela somehow wins and they are tied with us on points that is wild

or the final game is to settle who is 6th and 7th

but pretty much mathematically Chile/peru are eliminated

    9 points left

21 v 14 points…… I mean we need to have an epic meltdown to get knocked out by Bolivia especially playing them at home but fking with Lorenzo who knows

Venezuela tho can send us to 7th with 18 points and playing us at home

what saves us is they have Uruguay/argentina away then us at home. Maybe 0 additional points for them
