1-1 scoreline vs Haiti is unacceptable even with our B squad!!!!! What a pathetic joke this scoreline was, we had to come from behind with a questionable 5 minutes of extra time to barely tie Haiti 1-1!!!!!! What the hell is going on here? We are supposed to be the new Kings of the Concacaf with the likes of budding world superstars Landon Donovan and DeMarcus Beasley and we cannot even win this game 3-0???????? I don't care if this was our B team. I hope this serves as a sign for our guys to wake up and smell the coffee because if you are not going to produced at this low level of play you do not belong on the national team. Simple as that.

The difference being of course that most of those times a win is blown by missing numerous chances to score, outplaying the opponents 80 out of 90 minutes, and being unable to convert..... Apparently the only thing out of this list we were able to accomplish was "convert", and only because it seems we were gifted more extra time than we deserved....
Re: Re: Re: 1-1 scoreline vs Haiti is unacceptable even with our B squad!!!!! There was some serious time-wasting going on in the 2nd half. There were some injuries in the first half and only a minute of injury time. "Make up stuff" happens all the time, even with refs.
I thought the extra time was OK. There were a lot of substituions and some time-wasting. Where I thought the US received a gift was the Haiti goal that was called-back for a foul. Didn't look like a foul to me.
Foul The Haitian "scorer" pushed off the US defender to jockey for position on the header. It was a foul but not a hard foul.
Yeah, I saw the "push", but I've seen worse not called. It just looked like the usual bumping in the box to me.
Not sure if this link will work but here are Haiti's recent results. Not as bad as one might think but it's a mixed bag. Two draws vs. Nicuragua, a win over China, a win over T&T, got crushed by Peru and Jamaica, lost to St. Kitts. We should have creamed these guys.
This NOT meant to start a political debate!!! With all that's going on in Haiti right now it was a good game for them. This was definitely more meaningful to the Haiti team and their fans than for us. I'm surprised they even played the game. The power of soccer for a country's spirit can be an amazing thing. I hope that it brought some needed joy to people facing turmoil. If this were qualifying then maybe we could bitch but it wasn't so...
