haven't been following the Euros as much as I have in the past, Italy being bounced so early is that a big thing or was it expected of them to have a tough go
The Italian team is not what it once was. Especially for the past few years. The Swiss are actually pretty underrated and are better than many people think. The result really isn’t that big a surprise.
ugh, as a neutral party I wanted the upset just to be amused by the meltdown but you let me down slovakia, do better
It's fun watching the USWNT again with its young Forwards, Smith, Rodman and Swanson. It's too bad that Cat Macario is out. It's somewhat amazing how little respect the team is getting. One site said that there was only 1 USWNT player in the top 25 (Smith) women's players worldwide and that she was unique because all of the other top players played in Europe. I can't imagine Naomi Girma not making that list.
So, any of you world travelers and/or ex-pats have suggestions on how a guy who will find himself in London the second weekend of the EPL season could best find tickets to a game and see his first EPL action live in person?
If you don’t have a preference on teams you might want to look at an authorized tour group. They’re pricey, but it’s above board and hands off. Particularly for teams like Arsenal and Tottenham. Second option: join one of the local fan clubs in LA. They often have an allocation of tickets. Third option: join the team’s official club which gets you access to tickets, but more importantly the secondary market. It was effectively impossible to get Tottenham tickets when they went on sale to members and even the resale market was lots of weekends hitting refresh. Smaller teams or teams with crappy stadiums might be easier. BIL managed to get Chelsea tickets on short notice earlier this year. Some general tips. - make sure you use a credit card with no international transaction fees - make sure your credit card company knows your buying tickets in Europe. I got dinged by this with elusive tickets in my cart. - If two or more London teams are playing at home that weekend the Tube is packed.
Thanks for the advice. Looks like Tottenham and Fulham are both playing the same night when I'm there and neither is too far away from central London. Will look into these options. Thanks!
as an unbiased EPL watcher, I'm hoping you are able to swing Tottenham tickets, so me being unbiased can live vicariously through your experience of attending a Tottenham fixture
Tottenham plays Everton, I believe. So would really enjoy that game. I will report back if I'm able to make it happen.
and both teams have ties to the Galaxy, so that would be a great game to go to, good luck I hope you make it happen
Tottenham’s stadium is well worth it, even accounting for my bias. The Skywalk is a fun experience and worth the extra time money if you’re not bothered by heights. Getting tickets though is a real PITA. You need become a Tottenham member. I wouldn’t bother with the paid tiers - you’ll never get pre-sale tickets. You’ll need a membership for everyone attending the match as well. One final note have some flexibility on Saturday vs Sunday. Sometimes to support TV schedule they move the game. if you do opt for Tottenham I’ve got some additional info on getting there.
And I'll vicariously enjoy attending a Toffees match through you!!! Just remember which of the two clubs LD played for!
I know this is an old video, and we definitely don't have a problem with this this year, but I saw this and I just laughed pretty hard. first comment "When you suck at the game so bad it starts giving you tutorial poups" lmao
So I've got a connection that might be able to get me tickets to the Tottenham/Everton game, which I think is Tottenham's opening home game of the season. Will report back after if that happens.
Got ticket to Tottenham’s home opener. Balanced that by also scoring tickets to a musical on the West End to keep it balanced for Mrs TrickHog. Let the adventure begin!
Very cool on both events. Do you know where your seats are? If you’re taking the tube the connection to the overground is weird. Before you get to the escalator take a right on to the platform and walk back towards the way you came. The signage was garbage earlier this year. Got to the top of the escalator and someone’s written on a whiteboard to turn around.
