Messi wants to leave immediately from Barcelona: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/lionel-messi-barcelona-transfer-next-club-214808217.html A passage from the article: "And with that, one of the biggest transfer stories in the history of soccer will begin unfolding before our eyes. Messi, the greatest player ever, who’s spent his entire professional career at one of the biggest clubs ever, could become available in the weirdest summer ever. And while every team in the world would love to have him, there isn’t one obvious destination. In other words, an unprecedented player is in an unprecedented situation in an unprecedented world." Why not the Gs?? For what it's worth, while the article didn't mention the Gs, it did mention Beck's Miami team. Have a feeling that many stars names will be attached to Miami from here on out due to the Beck's Effect.
Sort of makes LAG feel like the guy who hangs around with the high school football star in hopes of catching some of his cast off girl friends
Congratulations to Steve Cherundolo, #USMNT legend and one of our Bundesliga world feed co-commentators. Steve, a long time German resident, has been named assistant coach of the Germany Under 15 national team 🇩🇪 @DFB_Team_EN.https://t.co/6fytfg3idS— Derek Rae (@RaeComm) August 20, 2020
FT: Sevilla 3-2 Inter Cheers to Sevilla. 6 UEL finals, 6 wins. Carlos gives away Lukaku's penalty, helps score the winner. Lukaku scores the opener for Inter, and redirects the goal that costs them the trophy. Football. Chicharito picks up a winner's medal, as well. Scored two goals in UEL this season.
I dont think I’ve ever seen the goat and hero completely swap places on the same play before! Great game.
He was such a great decision maker. Seldom* put a foot wrong. And seems like a great guy. Loved his time with the US. * IIRC (50-50 in this case) he made a costly mistake at start of 2nd half vs Brazil in Confed Final, but that was a very rare occurrence.
I vaguely remember the play, but yes, overall, he was normally more good than bad. Also, what game or tournament was it, where he got hurt right before and couldn't recover in time and it really hurt the USMNT's chances. I just recall the team was in a good position to do well until Dolo got hurt. The days of him and Spector.
Bayern just grinds on you and grinds on you until you let your guard down for a second, then Bam! MLS product Alphonso Davies is a Champions League winner!
Not a great game, especially in comparison to the semi- and quarter-finals. PSG often looked somewhat resigned to losing even though down only a goal. I was disappointed with Mbappe and Neymar- I’m used to more lethality from them with chances in or around the box. Mbappe kept shooting right into a defender, no deception at all. Lewandowski was superb as always and Bayern were the epitome of professionals getting the job done. Congrats to the Champions!
I didn't know where else to put this - does anyone have any contacts at our academy or at the Earthquakes? I have a coworker with a talented son who wants to try out so bad, but can't get an in. If anyone does, can you PM me? Much appreciated.
I thought that PSG made some strange strategic decisions that took their best weapons out of the game. For example instead of putting Mbapme at the 9, the put him on the wing and used him to take Davies out of the game. It worked fine in the first half, but after they got down they couldn't turn the offense back on. I think that they might have had a better chance of winning by trying to score first. They might have gotten blown out like Barca, but the way they played was like they were just trying to keep it close.
Messi saga potentially turning uglier: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/lionel-messi-barcelona-la-liga-release-clause-182802721.html La Liga seems scared to lose Messi and fall into irrelevance it seems. Don't see how Barca will win this battle in the court of public opinion.

Just saw that through Amazon Prime I have access to a series called "All or Nothing: Tottenham Hot Spurs." Has anyone been watching? Would it be of interest to someone like me who is not particularly a Spurs fan and only follows EPL in the most superficial way?
