caught this in the Soccernet live commentary for today's England/Serbia & Montenegro friendly (now there's a mouthful):

The 'announcers' were debating on what to do about England's lack of anybody to play on the left side of midfield:

"Most think Trev should stay. Or Sven should call up Gareth Barry. Or should naturalise Eddie Lewis says Charles Kirby, which is a novel idea."

    go Eddie...

Charles Kirby might be a Preston fan. Still, it's good to see a positive remark as such. Is Kirby aware of the fact that Lewis is cap-tied to the U.S.?

i'd assume that Mr. Kirby likely is aware of Eddie's stellar performance against Mexico last summer in the WC. but maybe not? he could just be a Preston supporter and a fan of Eddie. it was just strange to see a player that most of us consider to be a role player on the US squad be mentioned in a capacity like this.

of course, i've always liked Eddie :)

Does Eddie Lewis play in England? I thought he played somewhere else. And no, don't naturalize him!
