congrats NYRB for making a run at the cup and winning the western conf. championship but this poll proves why new york city needs its own team. new jersey residents outnumber all other residents by almost 3 to 1. NYRB is new jersey's team.

WTF are you talking about? Have you tabulated the responses in this thread???

    F'ing annoying.

Quick count I get 18 who live in NY, 18 who live in NJ, 4 who live in CT, 1 in PA, 6 elsewhere.

How do you get "almost 3 to 1"? The results, so far, tell me that this team represents the region rather well.

You know, I read somewhere that a full 65% of fans attending games at Yankee Stadium are from NJ (the majority coming from Bergen County). The Yankees must be NJ's team.

being one of the NYers on this thread, I would never support the second NYC team so don't county my residency as a reason for a second team :p

doesn't matter bro. both play in the SAME stadium. i don't hear people crying that the giants and jets should change their names to NJ.

I'm not arguing against another team, but this poll proves that NJ residents are more likely to reply to this thread in Big Soccer. I wouldn't suggest that it means anything else...

J1m, no it doesn't, not even that; certainly not by the numbers he suggests (he's wildly off). It's nearly 50/50 between Empire and Garden State residents. NJ residents are actually in the minority among all respondents.

the giants spent 48 years in new york and 31 ( and counting ) in jersey ( and 2 in connecticut ). they started out in new york and spent more than half its history there. the jets spent 23 years in ny and 23 in nj though most of the fanbase remains in ny and long island due to the giants 7 year jump on the nj population.

the metrostars/red bull has spent 13 years in nj and 0 in ny.

    make sense now?

Does that mean that you live on Route 17? I haven't seen many private residences on Route 17 in Paramus. Perhaps I should keep my eye open more in between Einstein Moomjy and Globe Shoes. :p

I won't make the opening of the Arena, but I plan to get up there for at least one match. I figure, take the train up and back, and just stay hammered the whole time. Is there a better way to survive AmTrak?
