Hoping to have the final score soon.

  2. CFR trail for the first time this PDL season after a Wisconsin 10th minute goal, but run out 5-1 winners anyways with yet another reserve Reserves line-up. Two second half goals for Jaman, a goal & an assist for new boy Vedad Ibisevic ('03 NCAA frosh. of the year) & three assists for Kreamalmeyer. Rochester is up next.

Ibisevic? Yeah, 'cause a team averaging five goals a game needed to add the top scoring freshman in the country!

Clearly, they are looking to load up as much as possible for the Rochester game.

I was thinking the same thing. Damn, they have a very impressive team. Probably the best defense in the country with 3 national teamers, and a very potent attack. The Rochester game will be very interesting.

  5. Not just the Rochester game, but the PDL playoffs as well. Ibisevic effectively replaces Hamid on the roster. Since Hamid's injury, Jason Acres is the only over 23 pro on the team.

While I hate to see any player get hurt - what is Hamid's injury and how long is he out? - I love that the Fire Reserves do things the right way and have an almost exculusive college team.

That's how the PDL should be.

Vedad is a great player but a bit of a knucklehead and he should benefit greatly from being in the professional evironment the CFR's offer and being around mature and experienced players like O'Rourke, Moor, etc...

  7. Hamid tore his ACL I believe and is done for the year.

Does DJ Countess play in the Reserves games?? Do you think he will ever see the Pitch for the Fire???

  9. No and not in a meaningful game unless Ring can't play. DJ is expansion draft bait, it's unlikely he will be on the Fire next season roster exempt, or not.

How did they get Vedad away from St Louis?

Presumably he is cap-tied to St Louis for the USOC, meaning he wouldn't be able to help them Wednesday in Rochester. Can anyone verify this, or not?

I don't think USOC qualifiers count for being cup tied. He should be ok to play.

Our schedule is murderous the next two weeks, with or without the Rochester Game. We have one with the Invaders and two with Kalamazoo, two of the top teams in the Great Lakes. While we haven't been hurting on the field, the PDL Playoff roster cap is coming soon, so any roster changes need to be timely.

By the way the game with the Blast has been rescheduled for July 13 at Lemont.
